Can a Klippermate dropweight replace a ratchet mech?

I currently have a Klippermate. If I upgrade to a 6-point, fixed clamp, dropweight machine with a ratchet mechanism, is it possible to replace the ratchet with the Klippermate dropweight? Any thoughts?

why would u want to do that?
I'm more used to the klippermate mech and would save up on string not having to wrap around the ratchet mech. Plus, I've heard the ratchet mech jaws eventually wear out faster than the klippermate jaws.

consider two things:
how much modification will u need to do.

will the calibration suffice with the change.

Yes that's true. I would just like to know if this idea was even possible to do. If so, what would be the best way to go about it?

Take the KM DW mechanism off its support. I think it it held by 1 screw? Compare with the hole that holds the proposed new DW tension mechanism. If they are the same size, you can theoretically change them out. If the hole is smaller on the proposed DW, it could be enlarged. I wouldn't bother with this change tho because if you run short when stringing, there is something called bridging. As for calibrating afterwards, it may not be needed because OP wants to change out the entire mechanism. The ratio of external to internal radii does not change, so the KM mechanism should still pull accurately.

Appreciate the input! This thought of mine came up since I've been pretty efficient with Klippermate's mech and I did consider just bridging if switching wasn't possible.

I can't help with original question, but another suggestion is an Alpha DW with linear gripper.

I'm looking into the Tourna 150-CS since I know someone with a connection with Tourna
Where can you find this machine for sale? Other than a connection of course. I really like the look of this one, and either way TW doesn’t list any of the drop weights with fixed clamps anymore

You can find a listing on tennismachinepros or that jungle website :D

If you can get a great deal on it, ok......BUT i'd definitely recommend the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus
instead. Linear gripper and quick/switch action action base clamps are preferable to most. It seemingly
is also priced better (retail), BUT if you can really score (wholesale price), then MAYBE i'd do the Tourna.
Maybe... (likely not)
