Can a string make your feel some pain in your elbow and wrist?
Absolutely.

Does it depend on the gauge, type of string, tension?
Strings like polys and kevlar (or aramid) are known to cause elbow pain. Strung at higher tensions, the condition worsens. Of course, bad technique comes into play, too.

Well, I got a racket strung with the Prince Tournament Nylon for the summer. So I wouldn't have to worry about to much about stringing and restringing. I hit with for a little bit, and I noticed that my wrist and elbow were hurting a bit.

it could be the tension, or even the gauge of the string that might make your racket feel boardy, thus stiff.
