Can anyone compare customized FX500 Tour to Pure Drive Tour?

I like the FX500 Tour better than non-Tour versions of the Pure Drive. I've always liked Dunlop's dampening technologies and feeling at contact. But I like the Pure Drive Tour more than the FX500 Tour, and I'm not sure if it's just the extra weight but everything else about the racquet too. To customize the FX500 Tour, I'd probably add a heavier replacement grip and some tungsten at 12 to balance, or just add tape at 10/2 to get it up to 310 or 315 unstrung.

I really try to avoid customizing if I can...I don't know how some tungsten tape might change how the FX500 Tour feels. I know it's a bit of a niche ask, but thoughts from anyone who used both these racquets is appreciated! Been thinking lately it'd be fun to have a blue racquet in my bag for days I just want to swing out. FX500 has bonus of being cheaper considering neither will be my main racquet... : )

I can compare a modified FX500 to a Pure Drive. It swings faster with more control, and is excellent on just about everything. The PD’s wide frame is slower getting around than the FX. Adding weight to a PD just didn’t work for me since the PD needs to be swung fast (weight slows the swing speed down). The FX however takes weight very well (as does the SX300). I’ve added lead on both sides the length of the headguard (underneath) and a leather grip. It still swings quick, but pummels the ball.

thank you. i do like the 98 better than 100 so that's helpful to know your thoughts on swinging with added weight.

Are you still using the fx500, any other customizations?

what frame did you switch to and what didn't you like about the fx500
I switched to a modified Blade Team. I had broken string on my FX and pulled out a Blade Team ( I had added lead under the headguard to as an experiment but never used) that had been sitting in my bag. So I pulled it out and played great with it. So I used it from them on.

I felt the FX was a little uncontrollable for me in stock form but I liked it. So I modified it with lead from 9.5 to 2.5 and it was a power hammer. I ended up going back to the stock grip. I won a lot of matches with it, and it hit a heavier ball than my PD. But it ended up being a little heavy and I got similar power with the Blade Team, but .5oz lighter.

Which did you like better for serves? Now I'm interested in both they are under $100. I can't even really tell the difference between a blade team and the blade 98 except for a bit of weight and 1 cross string
