Posted this at Odds & Ends section, but just in case you haven't read this:

My friend and I (both students at UC Berkeley) are planning to drive down to Las Vegas to attend a couple of concerts during the New Years Weekend. We are looking for a place (somewhere near the Strip) to stay on the night of 12/30 (friday) and 12/31 (saturday).

All we need is a room (living room is fine, we can bring our own sleeping bags :) ) with access to a bathroom, and SAFE place to park my car.

I am willing to pay you $150 for 2 nights. I am also a 4.0 player so if you would like to hit, I can bring my tennis gears and we can get a game going!

We are both very good kids - clean, smoke-free, well mannered. I am a business/economics major and an aspiring investment banker, and my friend just got a job offer from Goldman Sachs, the top investment bank in the world. We only need the place to sleep during the night.

If you are interested, please send me an email at JasonLee@berkeley.edu

Thanks!

Jason

For $150/ 2 nights I am pretty sure you will be able to find a hotel on or near the strip. It may be 2 star but shouldn't be a problem I would think.

I just returned from vegas for thanksgiving. Obligatory family trip.

What a pit!!! Remind me not to go back, if possible. And no, i'm not bitter from losing gambling money, i didn't lose a cent.

hey jason,
I am willing to host ya...just that make sure your friend is a girl...good looking one... j/k

Yo Lee,

I don't want to knock LV too bad, but its just not the place for me because:

I can't stand cigarette smoke for one thing and you can hardly go anywhere without being exposed to it. All the cabs have stripper ads on em. Prostitutes lurking. Gambling addicts and alcoholics abound. Generally kinda dirty. Can't go outside in the summer cuz of the heat. Not a big fan of desert, prefer ocean/mountains.

Get my drift?

I dunno about that. For new years eve, in Las Vegas? i did a quck orbitz search, and i found nothing under 150 a night. And that was sold out. YOu are def. right in trying to board with someone.

I forgot about the New Year's Eve part.

Orbitz and other similar websites only comprise percentage of rooms that are available. Many times you can call and still get rooms even it is says there are none on Orbitz because almost all hotels onlyblock off a small % for internet booking. Also the hotel listings on these websites are not complete.

Even so, to get a hotel even off the strip, on new years eve in las vegas is going to be tough. To the original poster: did you make arrangements as of yet?

Hey Hummer, yeah, I've been contacted by an awesome member of TT and we will be staying with him for three days. Are you going to be in Vegas too?
