Golden commentAlcaraz cant be as un-clutch as he was at the Olympics, thats for sure. You actually need to convert BPs to win.

At least today he convertedGolden comment
Yup, Djokovic won and was better. Alcaraz also made too many UEs and did help Djokovic in the process. At least today he converted. Couldnt watch todays match because of work, but i understand Nole was simply the better player today?
21 year old Nadal was losing to Gonzalez, and was struggling to win games against Tsonga lol.Carlos is stopping himself. 21-22year old Nadal wouldn’t lose a set to this decrepit version of Nole relative to his prime form
Both of them played at a higher level in those respective matches than Joker did last night.21 year old Nadal was losing to Gonzalez, and was struggling to win games against Tsonga lol.
Nadal was never really the man on HC.
Gonzalez definitely not, not even close lol. Both of them played at a higher level in those respective matches than Joker did last night.
If you didn’t watch the match it’s ok to admit it, lol. Gonzo was insane that match, his winner to UFE ratio was one of the best/cleanest you’ll see.Gonzalez definitely not, not even close lol.
Tsonga OTOH was insane in that match.
Nadal lost to Roddick (??) at the USO in 2007.
You're telling me Roddick had a higher level than this Djokovic too?
As you can see from the question mark right behind Roddick, I wasn't sure about the Roddick match. It seems Nadal lost to David Ferrer in 2007 USO, in 4 sets. David Ferrer wasn't playing better than this Djokovic. If you didn’t watch the match it’s ok to admit it, lol. Gonzo was insane that match, his winner to UFE ratio was one of the best/cleanest you’ll see.
Uh, Roddick and RAFA only played each other twice at the USO (2004, 2011)…And you can absolutely argue that the Roddick who showed up in the QF vs Fed played at a higher level, at least in the first 2 sets.
Of course ferrer is not even close. As you can see, I wasn't sure.about the Roddick match. It seems Nadal lost to David Ferrer in 2007 USO, in 4 sets. David Ferrer wasn't playing better than this Djokovic.
Your wish came true ND!I hope Djokovic wins . The AO is the bigger match not the Olympics
Yeah and that's why I dont get the hate. Why hate on Alcaraz if Nadal at that age was struggling against inferior players than this version of Djokovic.Of course ferrer is not even close.
Djokovic is third in backhand and second in forehand on tour even in 2024. Even in his slump his groundstrokes were just below sinner.
You do realize that Carlos has lost to way more players on HC than just Joker, right? He’s lost Mikael Ymer, Berrettini, and Zverev at the AO. And he’s lost to FAA, Medvedev, and van de Zandschulp at the USO. So, it not like he’s consistently getting stopped by the best of the best in HC GS.As you can see from the question mark right behind Roddick, I wasn't sure about the Roddick match. It seems Nadal lost to David Ferrer in 2007 USO, in 4 sets. David Ferrer wasn't playing better than this Djokovic.
Also on Gonzalez, I don't think he played better than Djokovic did today. This doesn't mean that Gonzalez didn't play a great match. In fact, I think he played an insane match. But then again, it's my opinion. Not a fact.
Point is, I think Carlos deserves a break, just like people excused Nadal for losing against nobodies in HC Slams. Carlos lost to the GOAT and best AO player ever.
He is better in some ways, and worse in others. He is not better in terms of level of play on clay. Maybe he is on grass and even that seems to be pushing it. On HC, both sucked. You do realize that Carlos has lost to way more players on HC than just Joker, right? He’s lost Mikael Ymer, Berrettini, and Zverev at the AO. That’s the burden he bears since people are calling him better than RAFA at the same age. You really can’t have it both ways. If he’s better then his results need to reflect that.
He’s not beating 2018 AO Fed tbh. And considering Raz lost to a Nadal who was 35 years and 10 months old with a cracked rib during Raz’s best hard court season (by results and level) to date, idk if this is much to boast about on HCThis Alcaraz would probably still have beaten both Roger & Rafa when they were 36/37 on a hardcourt. Roger might have had a chance if he was really serving well but i think even this version of Alcaraz beats say Roger in 2019/20 form.
He’s clearly worse in more ways than he’s better, otherwise he wouldn’t have a losing record to both of Nadavic when they were in their mid-late 30’s. The difference is that RAFA had to play a peak/prime Fed at Wimby vs a terribad Joker. He is better in some ways, and worse in others. He is not better in terms of level of play on clay. Maybe he is on grass and even that seems to be pushing it. On HC, both sucked.
Carlos has a more appealing and more surface balanced career so far, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is a better player in terms of level of play.
I don't believe Alcaraz or any other player on the tour will come close to what the Big3 achieved. If Carlos wins 12 Slams, he'd have a fine career.
