Can Djokovic Surpass 14 AO Titles?

Would anyone have guessed he will win 12 majors between age 31-36 ??

Take Alcaraz and Sinner out and Novak can win CYGS

Nevertheless he won’t win at 40. I know this gen is bad, but this is simply not happening.
What if Sinner gets banned and Carlos suffers another injury, like last year with his forearm that bothered him the whole clay season? In 2023 he had that cramping at RG, elbow during the indoor season etc.

I'm afraid he's done winning slams. Well, if somehow Alcaraz, Sinner and Zverev all crash out before they meet Djokovic, he may have a chance, but under normal circumstances, he will lose to one of these guys. Even in form Meddy or a couple others might be able to beat him, this old Novak.

Actually

Zverev is a coward

Yes. Djokovic is the king of the AO for a reason. Five AO's won't be too difficult for him. The Opelka loss in Brisbane was just a red herring to give his opponents a false sense of confidence. I'd be surprised if Djokovic drops more than one set at the AO.

With the big three, I would almost never laugh at seemingly far out questions like this as to what they can achieve. We've seen countless threads just like this one asking stuff like "can Djokovic achieve 20 slams" when he was on like 10 or 12 and in poor form. And same thing, people were commenting like "OP is trolling", "very funny joke", etc, only to for it to be matched and surpassed. Many, many threads like this, for the big three. I would never ever write off the big three. how many times did people say, over the last 10-15 years of Nadal's career, that he was "done"? It was said over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over. The big three are absolute freaks that could/can never be written off. They do not see limits.

LOL. Djokovic is 37 and on 10.

40% of those came after turning 31...

AO21 and AO23 were absolute trash draws and according to the 'scans', he was injured in both those events yet still won them...

He recovered from torn muscles in a matter of days to brush aside his sf and f opponents easier than he dispatched his corresponding R1 and R2 opponents in both years...

Agassi won 4 Australian Opens in his entire career.

He missed too many.

37 and 31 are entirely different.

He missed too many.
My point is that Agassi, in his time, was seen as one of the most dominant Australian Open champions, and he "only" won 4 Australian Open titles in his career. Yet here a poster (i.e. tennisjedi) was talking like a current 37-year-old Djokovic winning another 5 Australian Open titles "won't be too difficult". Ridiculous.

40 yeara old LeBron James made 38 points this week.

Can the Djokovic emulate Bron's longevity? Stay tunned!

Nope, mission impossible. It is like asking if Rafa or Roger will get to 24 GS or 428 weeks as nr. 1 and then win the goat race... never going to happen. It is all over and done.

Now it is time for the chasers of the big three goat records, to do their thing, Sinner and Carlos leading the way.

Novak can only do it, if Aussie government helps him by banning some top players ... like they helped Rafa a few years ago by banning the Goat to help him win another AO.:p

Even without Sinner no chance. There are Raz and Zverev, no way he wins four in a row. If he loses once, there is even less of a chance that he comes back and wins until he is 42.

Carlos isn’t very good on hards or consistent enough to where he would be a roadblock and Zverev couldn’t win a slam if you gave him a 2 sets, 5-0 lead

Zverev doesn’t need to win a slam, he just need to beat Novak which he is capable of especially when Novak gets older. Raz is also good enough on HC and can likely still improve. I can see Novak winning this year maybe but no way he wins four more, not happening.

4 is not happening. 2 would be amazing. 1 certainly possible if the stars align, and if anyone can do it, Novak can. But he will need some help. Murray isn’t that help.

Unfortunately even 4 still wouldn’t make him the goat. Sorry, not sorry.
