Can Dominic Thiem get his biggest win in almost 3 years this Wimbledon over Tsitsipas and go on to have a good tournament?

Not sure if many caught the first set of the Thiem v Tsitsipas match on Monday before rain halted play but Thiem looked really good and composed and took the first set. Tsitsipas meanwhile looked terrible hitting poor errors and just not like his ranking suggests.

I was surprised before the match that Thiem was paying $5. I know he's not in good form but neither is Stefanos who had a woeful grass season winning just 1 match and losing 3.
He lost in his first match in Mallorca to Hanfmann.
He lost in the Halle 2R to Jarry in straight sets after barely beating Barrere in a 3rd set tiebreaker in the 1R.
And he lost to Gasquet 1R in Stuttgart.

Stefanos also has a terrible record at Wimbledon. He's played the tournament 5 times and won a total of 5 matches. He lost in the 3R last year, in 2021 and 2019 he lost in the 1R.

If Thiem does manage to win, he then has to face Andy Murray who breezed through his 1R match so it's not easy.

I hope so. Thiem was fun to watch before the injury/surgery. I’d rather see Thiem play Murray than Stefanos.

Good to see Thiem gradually getting back to the swing of things.

He has been sorely missed and I think as fans we’ve been robbed off some great tennis over the last few years.

It’s 3rd match up on Court 2. The two matches preceding it are Sakkari vs Kostyuk (which could be a long match) and completion of the 5th set in Hanfmann vs Fritz (which shouldn’t be too long as they 3-2 in the final set),

Hopefully Thiem vs Taitsipas starts early. They have got an insane amount of matches to get through today.

I think some of us just enjoy the tennis. Sure, Alvarez and Djokovic are the best players, but some of these other matches and players are fun to watch.
