Discuss this important question.
No. That was easy.
Only if he starts entering mixed doubles.
No, as i have said since his final loss at the AO, he will end up with 19.
No. There is a greater chance of Donald Young winning 1 slam then Federer winning 30 slams.
Nope, no way.
You can't seriously think that there's a realistic chance...
dumb thread.Time for you to get a life.
Do us all a favor and stop making these threads,
If it happens, great for him. If not, who the hell cares, we have more important things in the world to think about than "OH nooooess!!!! FED didn't wIn a BaJilLlLion SLamS!!!!!1110101 It'S thE EnD oF dA Woldr!!!!010102"
He won't reach 20 slams, in my opinion.
No, but 19.
Hey Memphis, Te. Cool city, ive been there 2 times!
WOW he is down to FOURTY TWO POSTS A DAY
No maybe 20 slams but not 30.
30 yikes, even devout Fed fans can't even commit to such massive number. I see him with maybe 18 or 19, but not 30.
Fed_Fan should get a girlfriend or a job or something. That many posts in 2 months is disgusting.
How dare you trash-talk TMF!!
40 slams are easily within his reach; maybe even 50 if all goes well. To even question whether he will get to 30 is blasphemous.
I feel sorry for you bloke. At 32,you should be working, taking care of your family instead of worshipping Jesus Fed everyday, all day long.
According to this mathematical formula put forth by nadalgirl26, he does not really have a chance.
LOL. That made me laugh.
Maybe if he takes HGH causing his head to increase in size, an increase in height at age 30, and a huge increase in muscle mass, ala Barry Bonds.
Of course he can't.
Unless all the good guys on tour fell injured.
the sad thing is that 46 people voted yes  Fed will be lucky to get 18, to get 20 is even kind of pushing it. But anything is possible.
Le Creme and Le Clere.
Come on, thats not a very nice thing to say, maybe hes off from work for a couple of weeks? Vacation. If i wasnt working i could easily spend my days around these boards
Most Definetly YES. 2009 US Open is in the bag so thats 16 and now that he has broken the french Open curse, he will complete 5 calender slams for the next 5 years so it will give him 36 slams. so in short the answer is yes.
He'll reach 20 easily. 30, maybe. 40? You never know. Fed is god.
he can be happy for every other GS title he's taking home. not sure whether he will win one more at all. would say 17, maybe 18 is a realistic number.
I didn't know she was banned. Her legacy lives on anyway in the hands of people like the OP.
This thread needs a poll.
No. Will any other active players win 30 slams? No. No 30 slams for anyone unless some time in the future there's a deadly disease that leaves only a few players standing.
Imagine a big event organized by ATP that is held in a Hilton hotel for example.
All top 100 players are present except Federer who for some reason is a little late.
Then an enormous bomb explodes placed by al caida, brings down the whole building and everyone is gone except from Fed.
Then federer wins another 17 slams untill 2013 and reaches 32 overall.
i gotta go with a big resounding no.
i think 17 is his career max, he will retire by the end of next year due to family concerns.
So that was the infamous nadalgirl that I've heard about.
But no, I don't think he'll be able to reach 30 slams.
You mean combined with his daughters?
20 is the number I'm hoping for!
He could play doubles and reach that number. McEnroe did that for so many years ... I think it was 1996 when he won Wimbledon doubles with Stich.
no way, hes getting too old
no fed will retire in 2012 he only has 13 more slam chances 15+13=28 if he even wins all of them
he retired in 1992, the year he won wimbledon dubs with stich
I am going to apporach this idiotic question from a logical point of view.
Fed has 15...half way to 30.
If fed were to win the next 15 slams in a row it would the year 2013 and the slam he would be winning to get 30 is the 2013 French Open. Fed would be well into his early 30s..and lets be real winning what would be 18 slams in a row is unrealistic unless the rest of the field drops dead. So lets move on to the next option.
Fed wins 3 slams a year. Okay he wins the US Open this year that gives him fourteen more to go so that requires four more 3 slams seasons and 1 2 slam season..hmm we are even further now and it is 2014. He is 33 years old then..yes Connors did however win 2 slams at 33. However if Fed is supposed to be winning 3 slams a year for the next 4 years that would be unrealistic and well I don't see how it is possible.
Say he wins 2 a year..so he doesn't win the us open..he needs 8 seasons than. so thats 2017...(2016 if he pulls out a US Open win this year) So he is now 35 or 36 and supposed to be consistent enough in his 30s to win 2 slams a year. EVen in eras when there was less of a physical toll on the body the greats like Laver, Rosewall and Tilden were not champions into their mid 30s. They could pull a good run but not dominating the tour.
So frankly the answer is no. It is hard enough for Fed to get to 20 at the moment and getting to 30 would be unrealistic. He would have won 7 1/2 years worth of slam titles. That is intense.
I am going to apporach this logical question from an idiotic point of view.
Fed has 15...half way to 30.
The undisputed best player in the world, Nadal, is injured, and we don't know for sure when he'll be back 100%.
The others are vastly overrated and overhyped, and content with leftovers. e.g., Murray and Joker. Then there are Fed fans like Delpotro and Monfils who would starve rather than snatch a slam title from him.
Davydenko is the only real threat (refer Breaker's excellent analysis) but he's getting old and tends to choke against Fed (being another Fed worshipper).
Tsonga, Haas etc - too streaky, often injured ...
Then there is the known fact that all of Fed's draws are cakewalks, the crowds are with him, the courts are prepared in his favor, not to mention the weather/roof/altitude/air pressure/gravity etc.
The above factors should easily see him winning another 15 slams.
Fed's great at what he does, but no.
Clearly you dont watch tennis.
I think he will win 40 slams!
I wonder what I am doing in front of the telly with Scheuttler and Tsonga hitting something yellow and fuzzy at each other.
Or praps you didn't read the first line of my post.
he might be on summer holiday like me
If he does.... something is seriously wrong somewhere. maybe 2-6 more.
Separate names with a comma.
