Can Nadal get 25 Majors

With Nadal seemingly untouchable at FO no matter what they throw at him to stop him, and almost as unbeatable in New York if he is playing well and fit and given the Next Gen are fast becoming Lost Gen can Nadal get his 25 Major haul that he has on occasion hinted is his goal. Hard to see him not getting at least 2 more FOs and 1 more USO which leaves him just 2 short and given Nadals personality what he wants...he gets.

I think he can. All he needs is to keep piling on RG titles since everyone there is useless against him even more than before and to get lucky with a non-clay slam draw going his way.

"easily" ?

He's about to turn 35.

As great as Nadal is, that's a pretty poor indictment of the sport if you think he'll smash past that target at this point.
hitman just kidding, relax..of course nadal won't reach it, it's as clear as the sun will rise tomorrow

Only if he can win slams outside of RG, which will be very difficult because Djokovic is the favorite everywhere else and Nadal isn't even the second favorite at AO anymore. If Djokovic isn't on his way, he can make it but that will be very difficult. If he only wins RG every year, he'd need to either keep winning it every year until he's 39 or winning it in his forties if he can't do it 5 more times in a row.

Realistically, I can only see him win 2 more slams outside of RG and either 2 or 3 RG titles, so 25 slams is only the best case scenario.

How is Djokovic favourite over Nadal at USO?

You mean how he's the favorite in a surface in which Nadal hasn't been able to beat him since 2013 ? Nadal stands no chance against Djokovic in an HC slam anymore, he might have a tiny shot on grass though.
Nadal has won USO twice in last 4 years. Last year he was not even there and 2018 was injured. Djokovic only won once.
Again, how is Djokovic favourite?

Your statement makes it look like Djokovic was fit and healthy all of those last four years. Djokovic wasn't there in 2017 either, and in 2019 he was injured, just like Nadal in 2018 pulled out after going down 2-0.

What hurts Djokovic is that he stupidly got himself DQ'd last year, something Nadal would never do.

There is also the "short memory" problem of fans. You and I remember: "He's garbage now. His career is over. Pepe has poisoned his mind. He's too skinny. If he doesn't eat more meat, he'll never win again." And so on...

Or when Nadal was at his low point, he was never going to win again.

Now these guys are going to win 50 slams. :)

The one thing we are learning is that a great deal of what ended careers in the past was a combination of injuries - no modern surgery - and lack of knowledge about training (your area, but in music mine too.) In the past once things started going wrong, players just gave up. They figured a fast decline was inevitable. Now people get 2nd and 3rd chances. Humans are fast becoming vampires. :)

Which is why I don't really like to compare eras, as if it was a level playing field in every aspect.

I would say he can get 2-3 more RG and 1 more USO at least. The thing I don't like is how much people are discounting him at Wimbers. He made semis the last 2 times it was played people. He can probably get 1 more before he's out and done.

Because of his sorcery at RG, I wouldn't rule it out. However, I don't think he gets to 25.

Realistically speaking, I see 1 or 2 more RG. Outside of RG, I'd say 50/50 that he wins 1 more and probably no more than that.

So basically I think he'll ultimately end up with 21 or 22. Maaaaaaybe 23.

I don't think Fed will win anymore.
And I think Djokovic will probably end up with more than 20.
Poor fed fans.

Novak gets 22 easy peasy imo. Lock in Australia for at least 2 more years, big favorite in London for the next two (probably gets at least one), and I'd favor him in New York one more time in the next 2 years. The real question is after the next two years, and sitting on 22/23 majors to Rafa's 21/22, will Novak decide he needs to keep playing to put further distance between himself and Fedal, or can he happily retire if he leads Rafa by one major or so?

Yeah and Nadal leads at the USO.
We are talking about today, and who would most likely win if Novak and Nadal met there, right? If so you just need to look at Novak´s record against Nadal in HC.

im not sure what we are debating anymore. is there anyone that think that Nadal would be the favorite against Novak today at the USO?

Likelihood has nothing to do with who would actually win. The best you can do it guess and hope you are right. But you can't know. All we know for sure are the past data. The data say Nadal > Djokovic at USO.
