Can RG be won this year???

During the past few weeks, general consensus had been that the player who would beat Monfils aka the GURU at RG, would go on to win the title.

I was absolutely shocked to find out that Monfils had pulled out of the French Open. How is one supposed to win this tournament without receiving the final lesson from the GURU??

I have no clue what will happen now, but don't be surprised if this year there somehow won't be a winner.

Anyway, Monfils' latest move makes him the biggest troll in the tennis world right now, putting the ones on this forum to shame. His brilliance knows no bounds, time and time again the GURU manages to stun our unenlightened minds.

Just came across your thread. Nice post. Not sure why this hasn't seen a bit more traffic. Does seem highly unlikely that the tournament could produce a winner this year. Maybe in the absence of a formal classroom seminar, the would-be disciples will just be engaging in some sort of correspondence course. Doubtful that RG would recognize a non-traditional degree, however.

The only conceivable outcome may be a timeshare arrangement for the Coupe de Mouseketeers.

How long have you been a disciple of the GURU? La Monf gave first hand teaching to Nadal at MC. That's the reason why he has a tough draw at RG. He has been kind enough to give soft draws to both Djoko and Murray since he has not been able to teach them directly this year. He scripts everything and you should know this by now.

Professor Gurufils, knowing that his viral illness would leave him incapacitated for the next two weeks, hand picked a very able adjunct scholar and gave him sufficient knowledge of the ways of clay at RG to move through qualifying and win 1R vs a stubborn but abiding Dudi.

Then, due to a long absence from lectures at the feet of the Gurufils, it was determined student Cilic, the second highest seed in the adjunct's section was unworthy to continue his education in the City of No Lights. Thus, a large gangly Canadian with gel in his coif may be the toughest obstacle before the defending champion is to be redirected by this new associate of the Gurufils.

This new adjunct has great influence on draws at slams. After all, Gurufils noticed his pithy lecture to student Nadal at Wimby'15. Also benefitting today from his encounter the very next round at that stop on the lecture circuit last year was the Viktor vs the Young Artist. Do not be surprised if he also makes significant impact here too.

RG can be won if students properly receive without resistance the teachings of the great Dustin Dreddyfils, adjunct guru to the ailing professor emeritus.
