Can someone tell me about the Babolat E-Sense?

I went into Sports Authority today and looked at a few racquets. The sales guy recommended the Babolat E-Sense for me as I mostly play just on the weekends and he said it would be a big improvement over my Dunlop Revelation (got it for $3.50 at a thrift store) that I've been playing with. I went online to see if there were any reviews but I can't find anything on this particular racquet. It's almost like it doesn't exist. The racquet is red and white with black grip. I've seen the Lite and Comp versions online but I don't think it's either of those. I'm thinking about getting it if it would help my game. Any help would be appreciated.

The Dunlop is a players stick (12oz, 95" headsize)
the babolat is a tweener, I didn't see the one you said, but the specs from the others are ~10oz and 100" headsize.

you won't really notice the headsize change that much, but the weight is a big factor. Personally, I would just keep the Dunlop (for under $4, great buy). The racquet will allow you to keep getting better even if you only play on the weekends. The babolat probably isn't very arm friendly.

If you can't handle the weight of the dunlop, yes you will probably want to find a lighter racquet for casual play, personally I would save the money, if they're charging you $100, get a new set of strings, or look at TW sale racquets.
Lots of those sale racquets are great, prince graphite/ignite/ignite team, wilson K bold/tour, head radical

The frame you're talking about is almost certainly the "E-Sense Open", which is roughly the same level as the Comp and Lite, but with different specs. The reason you're having trouble finding lots of good info about the E-Sense frames is that they're not part of Babolat's performance lineup. That's par for the course if you're racquet shopping at Sports Authority. You get what you pay for, and the low price is NOT a sign of a bargain. Those frames aren't sold by pro shops or performance frame retailers, as they're intended for the mass channel. Sports Authority gets some of the same offerings as Wal Mart and the like, and in my opinion, there's no reason to buy these frames at all. In fact, I'd say there's no compelling reason to ever buy any tennis equipment (except maybe balls if they're on sale) at Sports Authority, but that's a long discussion for another time. The guy who told you it will help your game to buy this racquet may be either full of it, or simply not know anything about tennis frames, but chances are he's both rather than one or the other.

Bottom line is that you won't see much review action or analysis about "supermarket special" racquets, and there's no reason to think it will help your game. I don't know which Dunlop Revelation version you have, but if you're going to bother upgrading, make sure it's a "real" frame. If you're put off by the prices of proper tennis racquets at real tennis retailers, I'd recommend getting a racquet on sale from a previous season at TW or similar over buying the junk at SA.

Thanks. I ended up getting a Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 at Play It Again Sports for $25. I'll get to test it out tomorrow.
