Yes because he is the god.

No doubt Tsitsipas is thrilled that he’s playing Novak and not Nadal. Djokovic can’t expose the backhand as easily as Nadal.

He can win it. It’s going to be an interesting match. I predicted Nole in 3 in the match thread but my predictions are often wrong and Tsitsipas has the game to beat Nole here. Can’t wait for the final!

Let's not forget, Tsitsipas was up 6-4 , 4-2 against Djokovic in Rome only a month ago. Then the play was stopped due to rain and Djokovic won the next day.

However he clearly showed he can hurt Djokovic with his best game. He definitely has a chance, a lot more than Zverev would have.

Hell yeah, I think he's playing great atm. I just hope it's a great final, and not a repeat of AO '21 which people thought was the best chance a nextgen player ever had of beating a big 3 player in a slam final and it ended in a bit of beat down...

Tsitsipas has the backhand-to-backhand problem, and the problem that Djokovic is playing so well. He's got youth and fitness on his side, not to mention an unbreakable serve and fantastic world-destroying forehand. He can win, but I don't think it's his time just yet. Soon.

No chance. Djokovic did not even get to play his tennis this match, he had to be incredibly careful with every single one of his shots otherwise Rafa would unleash his infamous punisher forehands. He made it look easy but trust me, it must have been one of(if not the) the most mentally/strategically demanding matches of his life.
Playing against Stefanos will feel like a breath of fresh hair as he is nowhere near as ruthless as Rafa or Wawa from back in the day.
Add to this the nerves Tsitsi will have from playing his first Slam final and you get the picture of what's going to happen.
Stefanos' only hope is to play and win close tie-breakers, thus potentially drive Djoker insane and snow ball from there.

I don’t think he will be that nervous. Unlike the other youngsters he appears to be the only one that walks into every match expecting to win. As per his upset wins over Nadal and Fed at the AO and almost beating Novak at the FO until he cramped up.

Another interesting fact is that all of Novak’s losses in majors over the past 10 years to players other than Rafa had one handed backhands (Theim, Stan and Fed). I don’t think he can anticipate where the shot is going quite as well.

Do I think he wins - probably not. However I think he has more than a punchers chance.

Nah, no chance.

But I'm really wondering if peak Thiem would have a solid chance on Sunday. Nah, it's Thiem in a big final we're talking about, he'd bottle it.

Novak has beaten tsitsipas all 5 times in their previous clay meetings. But their rome match a couple of weeks ago was a tight contest. I just feel novak is too hungry for this. And tsitsipas is no peak wawrinka either, his backhand will get exposed.

He has a chance of course, but I would be extremely surprised and disappointed if he won

Odds are juicy. I'll put $50 on him.

Honestly he's been more consistent than Novak. Played less of a physical match and earlier in the day. 12 years younger.

I smell an AO 2019 if Novak holds.

Djokovic hates heat and sun. Tsitsipas hitting FH with more spin than Nadal.
If his BH holds up he will win.
Being underdog will help him

Greece is a more beautiful country than Serbia.

And Tsitispas is more beautiful and talented than Djokovic.

And he also has a cooler name.

Of course Stefanos can win. He's a great player with a solid mental game. This is not the era where everything was possible for the top players.

Hopefully, but doubtful. He almost imploded against Zverev. If he had won the semi in 3, then much better chance.

Chances are everyone in the top 5 rankings would have, but I really think he has few.

People talk on the mental side: have you seen the game today? Tsitsipas was looking scared, he seemed to be shaking inside when Zverev won the 3rd and 4th set. His face was absolutely terrified at the beginning of the 5th set. Add to that him crying for having reached the final of a slam. I don't see mental strength in him right now.

Another thing is to talk about Wawrinka. Come on:

1. Stan was already a slam champion
2. Stan had already defeated Djokovic in an epic game at the Rod Laver Arena
3. Djokovic carried an immense weight to conquer, after many frustrations, his first Roland Garros. It was the big goal of his sporting life at the time.

Wawrinka 2015 was a player with much more chance of beating Djokovic than Tsitsipas 2021. He had already demonstrated this at Djokovic's house (Rod Laver Arena).

And Djokovic had a lot more pressure in 2015.

Another issue: the physical side.

Djokovic warred with Nadal for 4 hours and in the interview he was cool and calm. If he needed to, he would be able to play another 5 hours.

Tsitsipas today did not run into some balls to save energy.

I find it difficult for him to endure a tense four-hour physical and mental battle against Djokovic.

We're going to find out what Sissypass is made of. Choke or.... swallow?

I expect Novak to prevail by virtue of his superior will. 6-3 Djock in 5.

I don't know if he will but man, beating the world number 1 on the biggest stage would be the best thing to see. I can dream, can't I?

Beating Rafa is such a huge event at RG. Winning Sunday is like trying to win two majors in 2 days. Novak may come out flat.

Yes, if Djokovic is mentally spent or overconfident after this crazy SF and Tsitsipas plays lights out tennis. But it's more likely that Djokovic will be careful and Tsitsipas will feel the pressure of his first slam final.
