Can Tsonga Stand To Lose A Little Weight?

Don't get me wrong, I loooooove me some JWT, and I think he has a very nice body compared to some other men who dare to call themselves "athletes." But I know he's had knee problems in the past, including surgery I believe, and I just feel like putting less weight on that joint could help him avoid future injuries. Plus, I felt like he just wilted in the heat in AO, which could be due to the fact that he was lugging around a little extra weight.

Again, I'm not ragging on JWT. I love him, he's probably my 2nd fave "power" player after DelPo. But I just feel like athletes should stay slim for the most part during their careers to avoid injury, fatigue, etc...maybe I'm wrong and Tsonga does better with the extra weight! Enlighten me, if you can!

I remember him losing his weight in 2009, after summer break when he came to US Series he was thinnier and he said a lot about his new diet, blah-blah-blah etc.
Didn't help him much I'll say. Yeah, he made semis in Canada but it was fluke, his other results were lame.

I remember I joked with my friends that his new diet was depressing him.

I saw him live in person at Indian Wells last year and I guess it's true what they saw about tv adding 10 pounds of weight. He looked really fit in person. Not skinny but really fit.
