I think TTW is more public service than anything else.
There are probably a core 500 users and thus it’s just not interesting enough to third party advertisers.
Google searches may help bring consumers to the merchandise section but that’s about it.
The ‘like’ feature adds to the general trolling, repetitive memes and gifs.
Personally I think the mods should turn more of a blind eye, but then again I’m not the owner and have no standards to maintain.
I suspect the like feature increases the moderation duty and that’s why they may have come to the conclusion they don’t need it.
Yeah I suspect traffic to the site will fall, but maybe that’s a good thing with a hardcore posse of 100 posters blathering on day and night about who the GOAT is are just taking up server space.
(BTW Federer is the GOAT, in case any of you have been drowned out by rising number of false allegations suggesting otherwise.)
