Can we just give fed the cincy open trophy already?

If you've been watching tennis for more than, say, a week you'd know not to rush to assumptions like this, especially when it comes to Federer.
lets hope MILOS does not get broken meekly in his first service game. but I can see why the OP feels that way. It's very likely given who he has in the semis and final. Fed had an amazing record against Roddick when he was in his prime. Fed loves to play big servers who have major flaws in their game, like movement, backhand etc.

It was also very likely that Djokovic would beat Robredo and that Wawrinka would beat Benneteau and that....well you get the idea.

Will Federer win this title? Likely, but I don't see the need to make a thread saying "let's just give this trophy to Federer". Why? Let's just let it play out. We may be all surprised, as we are on a seemingly regular basis nowadays.

As probably Ferrer's biggest fan, I gotta say it...it's over.

Proudly mock me if I'm wrong because I'll celebrate. I just don't believe I will be.

I'm not quite sure how motivated Djok was. And Stan is looking more and more like a fluke GS champ. Once fed gets at this stage, especially with his record against his opponents, he will be tough to beat.

I wonder if Federer gets through Raonic, whether the lack of day matches will hinder him like in Toronto.

he's 20-0 against his two final opponents. As good as it gets. Expect the semi to be the tougher one, but I don't outrule him losing to Ferrer completely either - especially the way Ferrer played today and the way Fed has been playing in finals this year + with the late match, night to day-time (as NatF says above) and all that jazz.

p.s. I actually think day-time will help him vs. Ferrer as opposed to vs. Tsonga. Tsonga's ball came to quickly and heavy for Fed. Ferrer's won't, Fed will be aided by the extra speed vs. Ferrer instead (should they meet)

I think it depends on the match with Raonic. If it goes to 3, Fed could be tired when playing Ferrer. Ferrer will be well rested.

I'm with you and I'm not. Even if Fed-Raonic goes to 3, it will probably be a fairly quick match - or at least the points will be quick (Raonic is pretty slow between points).
But he could look as flat as he did against Tsonga last week for all we know - so no reason to give him the trophy just yet.

Every now and then Fed deserves a break too, just like Djoko (2012 Canada - in order, he beat Querrey/Haas/Janko Tipsy/Gasquet), and Rafa 2013 Canada (beat Raonic for the title, but he also did beat Djoko in SF, just like Fed beat Murray in QF in Cincy this year).

But with current Fed, there's no guarantee that he won't shank and net his way to a loss against any player. So there's all to play for.
