Can we still hope on Del Potro making a comeback ?

Reaching a career high of No.4 in Jan 2010 at age 21 , Del Potro was in great shape to take over the ATP tour.

There was never a doubt about his personality, charisma and he would have been a worthy successor to Fedal.

Got sidelined from tour for 2010 with wrist injury early in the year. Came back strong after almost 1 year and had several wins over all the top players. Finished 2011 ranked No.11 and was comeback player of the year and ended 2012 ranked 7 , 2013 ranked 5 and was No.4 after 2014 AO.

Recurrence of the wrist injury again in 2014, has meant he has been out practically for 2 years now. Novak, Andy and Stan have gained big time from the absence of Del Potro.

Are you hoping for another comeback or is it going to be another case of Soderling ?

We know he is fighting hard.. Age is on his side still.

I disagree that Novak has gained big time from Del Potro's absence as Juan Martin has always been a very good matchup for him anyway. I do hope we see a successful comeback in the near future but sadly I think his best days are probably behind him.

He hasn't given up. That's a good mental place to be. It's partially how he won the USO.

Would be so great if he can make a comeback. His opponents will show his new backhand no mercy though.
