Canada - Be Glad You Don't Live Here! TSN Coverage

Canada's TSN is providing the only coverage of Wimbledon via ESPN2. At 11:00 am (Pacific Time) they switched over to Motoring 2010. Right now I'm following the tournament via radio and the IBM Slam Tracker.

Just out of curiosity - can someone in the USA confirm that ESPN is still providing coverage?

Coverage just switches to ESPNU (and/or ESPN Classic) whenever there are World Cup matches. Switches back to ESPN2 as soon as the match ends.

Makes you glad to live in the UK. Poor show from the TV companies in the US and Canadia.

Seriously? I saw the entire day's worth of showcourt matches yesterday from Federer until Djokovic's late finish...

but Tennis coverage is quite poopy here in Canada, agreed.

TSN2 is usually useless (outside of the Masters).

ESPN is trying to outbid NBC for the future Olympics (after the London games) and so they're going all out at the World Cup to prove it to the IOC.

It's not so bad really as far being shuffled to ESPNU. I'm not at home right now, but ESPNU is part of my digital package - don't even have to go for the Sports Pack.

Now the actual coverage as far as matches and too many talking heads, that's nothing to write home about.

TSN used the ESPN feed yesterday. Today, just like they did for FO, they used a UK feed. Not sure what network it is. McEnroe, Davenport, and Tracy Austin were doing color commentary for some of the matches.

But yeah, the coverage sucked today. I have no idea why the switched over Motoring 2010. You shouldn't have to use live streams.

Gee, I thought they were still showing the ice fishing tourney or the curling championships?

I live in Canada, TSN just had 6 hours of straight Wimbledon coverage, I'd say that pretty decent actually...not sure why your complaining.

FYI for the FO, TSN uses the Australian feed not the UK feed. Anyway, here in Quebec I have coverage both on TSN and RDS. What is not shown on one is usually on the other.

TSN starts at 8 am EST and ends at 3 pm That's 7 hours of live tennnis. And we get BBC and not the stupid ESPN with their terrible commentators. & they will show more tennis by week 2. Check theor week's schedule on some TV listings.

And if that's not enough for you, go to livescorehunter.com and watch every court with a camera all day long.

Alternative. Come to Ottawa or Montreal and also watch LIVE Wimbledon oon the French sports channel from 10 am.

Or download veetle and watch TheTennisChannel.

10 years ago we got NO tennis anywhere.

Err...tell me again what you are complaining about. I don't quite get it.

TSN does a pretty good job. My only gripe is the randomness. Some days they cut the coverage short, other days they completely televise the entire day. It's nice they show replays on TSN2 later in the day.

I've got Directv so the Wimbledon Mix is just awesome. Get to see most of the featured matches in their entirety with limited commercial interruption on change overs.

Gotta love DirecTV.

But yeah they switched to ESPNU when the World Cup came on ESPN 2, even though ESPNU isn't part of my package, or I can't find the channel I still get it through the Wimbledon Mix.
