Can't tell Babolat Pure Control Standard or Midplus

I just bought an old Babolat Pure Control. At least I think it's a pure control. It says "VS CONTROL" on the side and it's painted red like the old pure controls but has "WOOFER" all over the top of the hoop. Tension range is 48-57 lbs, 16x20 pattern, 310 grams, 64 flex, 315 mm balance, 300 dynamic intertia. No head size listed. These are unstrung spec on the inside of the throat. They are most comparable to the 100 inch midplus out right now, but I just wanted to verify. I was confused because I though the midplus(100) came out after the standard(98) changed to the new paint job. Maybe fake?

Currently using a 27inch 95 equipe. Do you think the 98 inch version of the pure control would be closer to the equipe?

Any info would be welcome, Thanks.

Sounds like you've got an old VS Control - they were out prior to the new "Pure Control" series. It's a very nice racquet and very comparable to the the newer Babolat Pure Control MP (100si). I have one as well but I have to say that even though the flex is listed as 64, I felt the racquet played stiffer, even in comparison to the MP. The regular Pure Control (98si), however, is quite stiff (70 or so), and heavier than both the VS Control and PC MP, so I would say it IS a bit closer (in specs) to the Prince Equipe. The main difference would be in weight (static and swingweight), as I believe the Prince swings considerably heavier than even the PC 98.

Just a note - if you find you like the control series of racquets, but feel the PC 98 is too light, you might want to try the "old" PC 98 - 2001 model. The new model is the Pure Control Team series (2003). The 2001 model is a bit stiffer (similar to Equipe), and swings heavier. Just a thought.
