i m not banned but you should for spreading FAKE NEWS. very strange to defend a body builder who has no business nor knowledge of serious tennis. Muscles but no brains.Ignore that user. It is an old soul (fedace) old banned user with 3-4 active accounts....
I do no know, my friends. The idea that this:
is an athlete of such massive upper body strength that it protects him from tennis elbow in a scale unbeknownst to my recreational teammates, most of whom are either lumberjack or construction workers, that just does not sit right with me.
I think we are imagining things here.
I do like the post above, though. Explosiveness, absolutely. Stamina, incredible. Upper body strength, meh.
Look at the the disproportionality in size between Fed's right arm and his skinny left arm!
Do you still swing it? Curious if you customised it anyhow?Hey All,
To all my tennis peeps out there, Carlos Alcaraz was voted newcomer of the year for 2020. I truly believe he is one of the next greats. He’s got a Junior make-up similar to one Rafa Nadal. Could he be a right-handed Rafa? Only time will tell. He’s 17 and the youngest in the ATP top 200. He’s coached by J.C. Ferrero, who was a great player and grand slam champion (hall of famer) in his own right. Also, and one of my fave details, is that Carlos switched from the standard Pure Aero to the 2020 Pure Aero VS, which is truly an incredible frame that has not gotten enough love yet, since it came out right during COVID. It’s the racquet I’ve been swinging since last March and plan to stay with for a very long time! Anyways, be on the look-out for Carlos and his Pure Aero VS (2020). He’s going to take down some serious names super soon!
It all makes sense now. His incoherent ramblings, non sequiturs, massive typos combined with poor grammar. How did I not link the two before?Ignore that user. It is an old soul (fedace) old banned user with 3-4 active accounts....
You must be new hereWould you stick to the original topic, please...
I am curious to know too cos boy does his strokes have serious heat!!!!!
Hey, Felix is using the old Pure Aero VS painted up like the new pure aero. Alcaraz and Rune are using the real deal 2020 Pure Aero VS. In my opinion, it's one of the best Bab racquets I've ever played with. It's my racquet of choice and an incredible stick! I play it stock, but it's ripe for customization as well.So do FAA, Alcatraz and Rune all play the PAVS?

Carlos himself has said he tried to model his strokes after Federer. His "serious heat" as you term it, has little to do with his racquet.
Carlos has great footwork, excellent stroke technique and great timing. His racquet is simply an extension of his body.
Pay particular attention to his footwork and his legs when he hits his shots. He uses his bio-mechanical kinetic chain beautifully. Probably the best since Federer.
Many compare Alcaraz to Nadal, but the young Spanish tennis player has a different idea about it. In fact he said: "I think my playing style is reminiscent of Roger Federer's one.To Nadal!![]()
I believe he tried it at last year’s ATP Cup. Not sure he won a single match.Didn't FAA try the new PA VS but didn't like it as much so he went back to the old one.
Yeah, FAA supposedly liked it in the pre-season leading into 2021, but then had crummy results with it in the ATP Cup. I think the Pure Aero VS takes great to customization, just like the 2013 APD. It's a great starting point, especially with 305 gram weight, head light balance, and decent to low starting swing weight. I'd love to know the specs on Alcaraz and Rune's sticks!Didn't FAA try the new PA VS but didn't like it as much so he went back to the old one.
Do you think the PA VS is as good as a customised 2013 APD ?
Okay, I believe you/him - just last time I checked, Fed was an all courter turned more serve/volley and had a one hander; Grigor or Stefanos would seemingly be more convincing replications. Many compare Alcaraz to Nadal, but the young Spanish tennis player has a different idea about it. Future #1
Man, that was some fast hitting… wowAlcaraz is a 6 feet guy with a monster forehand and a very solid 2 handed backhand, like a Fernando Gonzalez that doesn't need to be trying to hit inside out forehands all the time because he is comfortable with his backhand too. I think he is more like his coach Ferrero or even Agassi (Alcaraz is a lot faster) than any of the big top players we have had since the Fedal age.
I like his game a lot.
hmmm I don’t see him being better than a zverev or Medvedev in the rankings
But, who will he contend with for majors in 5-7 years? Musetti? Sinner? Korda?hmmm I don’t see him being better than a zverev or Medvedev in the rankings
+ Already has JCF as coach and is presumably immersed in a winning system; my only caveat is that Alcaraz already looks very 'physically developed' for his age, which could somewhat moderate projected/future improvement.Alcaraz is spanish. Just look at how rock solid most of the Spanish players have been over the past thirty years.
Most of them are very strong mentally. If Alcaraz has that mental toughness he will do better than most of them - except for Nadal, of course - because he has a great all round game.
For me, Alcaraz is to Nadal as Wilander was to Borg. And Wilander had a pretty decent career (McEnroe, Lendl, Edberg, Cash, Becker) during a period when the competition was much tougher than it's likely to be during Alcaraz's time in pro tennis.
Define big win.
