A look at our Carlos's draw at Basel (Swiss Indoors Open) which begins on Monday:

1st round: Jack Draper

2nd round: Botic van de Zandschulp or Adrian Mannarino

QF: Maxime Cressy, Dominic Stricker, Sebastien Baez, or Pablo Carreno Busta

Semis could be Felix Auger-Aliassime, Miomir Kecmanovic, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Lorenzo Musetti....

Finals: on the other side of the draw are Casper Ruud, Alex de Minaur, Marin Cilic, Stan Wawrinka, Alex Molcan, Jenson Brooksby, Holger Rune, Mackenzie McDonald, Sebastien Korda, Roberto Bautista Agut, David Goffin and a few others...

Here's hoping Carlos is able to play his best tennis next week! Our hearts are with you our dear Carlitos! (: (: (: (: (:

It's really a nightmarish draw, lol.
Draper ain't gonna be easy. His fitness is his biggest issue so far, but the first 2 rounds are when he's the most dangerous, when he's fresh. Ask Tsitsipas and Auger-Aliassime...Plus the surface in Basel is one of the fastest Indoors... much faster than Bercy for example. Draper with his huge serve is definitely gonna be a tough 1st round.
Mannarino plays a lot like Gaston, who beat him in Bercy last year. Cressy and Stricker on fast courts? Not easy either.
And FAA is his daddy so far... if they meet in the Semifinal, good luck to him. lol

I really hope he can win some points though. I so don't want Nadal to finish the year #1. Alcaraz is ahead of him with only 650. If Draper upsets him he'll win 0. And if Nadal plays both Paris and WTF and has better results than him, he still has a good chance to snag it.

What does Alcaraz have to do to keep the #1 ranking if Nadal wins Paris and Italy?

No Federer in the draw???????
no but his distant cousin Foger Rederer was granted a wild card

Carlos wins his first round match. It's always his first round matches that concern me, it always gets easier for him after he is acclimated back on the tennis court after a bit of an absence or a change of court type. I always breath a sigh of relief once he is past this round. He just needs to concentrate for a few more weeks and do his best!

Bad loss to FAA today who is looking pretty unbeatable with his serve working as it is now. Hopefully Carlos will find better form in Paris.

Alcaraz is now 8-4 indoors in four tournaments using the regular ATP format competition. That’s a decent winning percentage but not a great ratio. He will have two chances this year to improve those numbers and grab a first title indoors.
