Carlos Alcaraz will not win the 2024 US Open

Going out on a limb here and predicting that Carlitos is not taking home the title this year!

I've picked wrong before (e.g., Goobledon), picked right before (e.g., 2024 AO). Just think that Alcaraz is a little more vulnerable than Sinner or Djokovic going in and the possibility of facing both seems like a tall order.

I think it’s kinda obvious. That prediction isn’t surprising. I feel like if Sinner and him meet in the semis this year (Assuming Sinner is 100%), the match won’t be as close as in 2022. Sinner is just a far better hardcourt player. I think he should be happy if he makes the semifinal, but I doubt he wins the title

I'll be cheering for Carlos to make it to Sinner so he and his cocky fans can get humbled.

Yep, he's not winning it.

And yet Carlos has a US open title to his name and Sinner does not.....Ok guy. Please hook me up with what you're smoking.

Last match Sinner played against Carlos he lost that as well.

These comments typically age like milk from that brigade. Let's see what it is this time lol.

All I know is it'll be hella funny if Arthur Ashe Alcaraz turns up.

Oh honey I don’t even think you understand the word cocky if you can’t recognise that you’re the worst poster in terms of cockiness that I’ve seen in my near decade here.

Your bullying and treatment of Alcaraz is utterly foul, you mocked a teenagers teeth for months and called him a millennial brat. You should be ashamed and it is you that needs humbling.

The irony is he mocked the life out of Sinner just as much before. Whether or not he's a bandwagoner is secondary, but to see the dkings of the forum lap him up is funny as hell. You should know a phone when you see one.

Need to see the draw first. Think he needs to avoid the following in his half:
Paul
Tiafoe
Sinner

Sinner will take him out before the final, but if they meet in the final Alcaraz will win. Paul and Tiafoe on Ashe in a night session are going to be a nightmare for any player not named Djokovic as he the only one who can cope with the crowd as he has done it his whole career.

Carlitos is going to do very well at this US Open for sure. He and Sinner are on a collision course. If they play each other it will be another five set epic with Sinner winning.

Carlitos is strangely vulnerable to some players on hard court, though. Not as vulnerable as he is on the lifeless Australian Open courts, US Open is a far livelier hard court surface, but Medvedev and Zverev will be circling expecting to beat him.

I’m actually surprised that Medvedev is not at shorter odds going into US Open. He might be a sneaky chance to go very deep.

Waiting for the days when he gets vulnerable on grass.

Damn this sinner who lose so early. Need to stop Carlito on grass now.

Carlitos vulnerable on grass? We might be waiting a while to see that happen :-D

The little master has conquered grass at an absurdly rapid rate. It’s amazing to see what he has done there, setting up a little stronghold for himself without being serve dominant.

We are being spoiled watching Sinner and Alcaraz develop their careers. We’re lucky if we get one player of this talent level in a generation and we’ve got two. And this is right after enjoying the Big 5 era. o_O

This is the tennis gods rewarding us for being patient and sticking with tennis despite all the disappointment of the 90s baby Dimitrov era.

No I want next year. Can't wait now

I saw the highlights of yesterday's final and Sinner wasn't looking great either. Especially in BO5 I would give the edge to Alcaraz.

"Alcaraz is not good enough on HC" and the usual Sinner overhype.

It's ridiculous and based on nothing. It's more that Sinner has only done anything of real note on HC, Alcaraz has done it on all three surfaces. They always play each other close everywhere so far, so it's a match up thing more than a surface thing.

Alcaraz literally played two tournaments after Wimbledon. The Olympics (on clay), where he did well enough and then a surprise loss in Cincy which was obviously not surface-related. It doesn't say anything about the USO, the HC sample size since Wimbledon is far too small. So far, he has posted good results at the USO including a win in 2022.

There is a difference between "his chances aren't as good as at RG/Wimby" and "he has no chance, he's toast".

Alcaraz has 3 big advantages over everybody else:
Alcaraz is the clutchest man on earth, undefeated in slam finals and 12-1 in 5-setters.
Alcaraz is the most athletic man on earth, the best mobility since peak Nadal.
Alcaraz has the most variety of any tennis player ever to pick up a racquet, and the most groundstroke power.
So Alcaraz is always the most likely winner of grand slam events, and that's why he's already won 3 of the 4 slam events at age 21!

Ya - with a USO win - it can be a great season for Alcaraz. Infact - it already is a great one with channel slam.

Best season ever - doubt it highly.
Yeah, Alcaraz won a masters title, Not good enough to cut it for season like Fed 2006, and Novak 2011

He’ll be bellowing to JC Ferrero for answers when Sinner unleashes those massive forehands and tear apart his weak backhand
