Carlos is propaganda

Carlos alcaraz is purely propaganda. He’s playing in a weak era and not even coming close to matching the achievements of fed and Ned at the same age. The Carlitos hype stems solely from his highlight reel, which is subpar compared to many other young players. He seems very injury prone and I am starting to doubt if he can even win more than one slam in his career. There are plenty of players who have been predicted to dismantle the big 3 (dimitrov, nishikori, Kyrgios, thiem) and none of them succeeded. If Propagandaraz can’t dismantle the big 3 when they are so old he doesn’t deserve to win any slams…

I know Alcaraz's favorite surface is hardcourt..... but I think Medvedev will win nearly all the hardcourt slams in coming years, while Alcaraz will dominate the weakest era of Wimbledon ever, and win some French Opens (but RG will be the deepest slam, many players at a similar level).
So overall I'm not sure if Alcaraz will be the best player of his era, but certainly top2 with Medvedev :happydevil:
BTW Medvedev is getting very good at clay, can win RG too.

What are your thoughts on Sebastian Korda? Greatest in this era right?

Carlos is good. But a lot of good ones are there from his gen. His best result still is a quarters in slams. Not seeing that improving this year. But no doubt he is a future talent.

The kid has won 4 titles this year, 2 Masters. He is third in the Singles Race. And anyone who has seen him play enough knows he is special. A future talent? You are high?

Alcaraz in the real deal and is not propaganda! Stop with the "weak era" BS. The game of tennis has never been more physical and never before has the ball been hit harder or with more spin.
Wrong, ball was hit pretty hard by Del Potro. Crazy forehand speed. Crazy serving by Karlovic has also happened. Crazy ball chasing has happened by Nadal. Crazy back hand rallies have happened between Djokovic and Wawrinka. And guess what, I am only looking a decade back. If we go 3-4 decades back, Carlos at this point looks propaganda. He ofcourse can become ATG. But that is in the future, if it happens.

LOL! Tennis is more than hitting the ball hard! How many slams did Karlovic win? I am a Del Potro fan but I think that Alcaraz will equal or win more slams.

Just commented on your comment of - " ball has never been hit harder". Rest - 100% sure Alcaraz will win slams. For now it's a propaganda though, unless proven otherwise.

No. It's NOT propaganda! Propaganda is repeating lies in order to deceive. Alcaraz is just starting his career but, so far, it's looking very good that he will have a very successful one! That's no lie. Let's wait and see what he can do! Watching him play is a true joy if you're a real tennis fan.

Having seen next gen, lost gen and umpteen gens losing to big 3 after all the hype. I now wear glasses of suspicion. :)

Please don't confuse propaganda with hype! They are not the same!

The Federer / Nadal / Djokovic generation is a fluke. I would be surprised to see such dominant players in future generations. Still, their rivalries have been wonderful to witness. Enjoy them while you can!

It was pretty easy to see that the Big 3 were special when they were teens and it is the same with Alcaraz when you watch him in person. Nadal was a teen prodigy and won multiple Slams early. Djokovic and Federer were late bloomers who took a while to learn the multiple-Slam winning habit. Not sure which way Alcaraz will turnout, but he will be a multiple Slam winner barring serious injuries derailing his career.

It not possible to write him as he is only 19, we need to wait at least 3 more years to write him off.

At 19 he is in top 10, he might enter top 5 soon, so it won't be all hype.

Novak was in the top 5 at 19 years and 11 months
Federer as in the top 5 at 21 years and 5 months

So you could keep Federer's age as a cut off point, if he doesnt win a slam till 23 then he won't win much in his career, otherwise he is around the corner.

The kid is doing well for himself. I dont know about propaganda but he has brought some renewed excitement about the game for some fans who don't like the Big 3 winning everything.

He's still got some ways to go but he is on the right path if he doesn't let it all go into his head.

Every time we find someone interesting there's always this cynic looking to say "mark my words". Must we always be so pessimistic? The field is barren and the youngsters are inconsistent and all we want is someone to be hyped about - it's not like we are predicting his success like it's a fact.

the only fact is that he is playing the most exciting tennis at the moment

Cant wait for your salt when Alcaraz defeats Djokovic only to get dismissed by Nadal in a big final. That would accurately describe the year that Nadal and his fans have been having till now
Would likely root for Nadal in the final if there’s no Djokovic anyway tbh.

No he wasn't
Not even close, you are right. Thiem was a great player, but compared to Alcaraz he was not even near the same level, and had a very limited game. Just comparing their tactics (Thiem for the most part being a brainless ball-basher, which accounts for his wrist issues, whereas Alcaraz has an all-court game with all the weapons in his arsenal) you can see they are absolutely different. Even comparing Thiem to Alcaraz is an insult in my opinion, but your mileage might vary.
