When is he coming back? Is he done?
As far as I know he is still on tour and didn't retire, but he is inactive.
He played like 3 tournaments (including AO) earlier in the year, but has been a ghost since then.
No word of an injury, maybe he's just taking it easy?
He had a hip surgery, started training recently, and is planning to come back for Australian Open.
^^ my mistake, I guess injury is the reason.
It will be good to see him back.
He's injured. Not sure how much he can do to come back at his age, though.
He's ranked 463
Shouldn't his ranking be proteced?
The protected ranking is only for seeding purposes. And for a certain ammount of tournaments. If he doesn't play, his real ranking goes down the drain.
He may ask for protected ranking for the AO, and he gets the draws as is he was seeded XXX. But his real ranking will still be in the 450s, and if he goes far, he may go up 250 spots to the 200s.
Only for entry purposes, you mean. It's used for entry into tournaments but NOT for seeding.
With an injury? No it won't be good. It will be sad to see such a great player like Moya struggle against that kind of injury. He should retire and leave us with good memories of him
Hey, if he wants to play then he wants to play. He wasn't half bad for the last 2 or 3 years.
He is old enough and accomplished enough to retire, though.
he was injured but hopefully will be back soon
he is a roland garros champion and former number 1 he should get a wildcard for any tournament he wishes
I believe his first tourney back will be an XO in Rio with Nalbandian (also recovering from an operation). Carlos apparently had 2 operations. One on the hip and the other on the foot.
Yeah, I meant entry. Good catch
Moya still grinding it out Lol...Good to see fight in the veteran spaniard yet. Looking forward to seing them big booming forehands.
Moya is training with Nadal
Moya was done 5 years ago.
Carlos will return to the court at Copa Peugeot, in Argentina, December 17-20 along with Marat, Baggy, and Nando. Not sure about Nalbandian though.
Separate names with a comma.
