Carlos weighs in on who is the best in history

All I’m gonna say is IF there was an indisputable GOAT then I think it would be indisputable.

As it stands all 3 have flaws and holes in their resumes. None of the 3 have separated themselves head and shoulders above the rest.

Djokovic came the closest but flubbed his opportunity at the CYGS and immortality. Had he won that, I’d hold my hands up and say yeah that’s the GOAT. Instead he lost to Medvedev. So sorry, there’s a debate.
If all that stood between him and immortality is one single match on one single day then mate you should definitely reconsider

Well, I’m an American Djokovic fan who admires Elon Musk then.

I mean, he is good at what he calls “allocating resources” which is another way of saying good at figuring out what has the potential to make money and getting other rich people and himself to invest in it.

But still it takes foresight and some conviction, and intelligence and good understanding of the basic underlying engineering principles.

And unless a law is introduced or changed he cannot ever become president, as he is born in South Africa.
It is illegal to be American and a fan of Djokovic. Be a fan of Roddick who kicked his ass.

Roddick is a funny guy and a good commentator, but his tennis story is nowhere near as inspirational as Djokovic’s.

Coming from a small town in the middle of nowhere? Winning against the odds in come from behind wins? Defeating all your rivals and becoming the GOAT?

Roddick, and Federer and Nadal, all pale in comparison.

I’ll say this over and over again, you can make Djokovic’s life into an epic movie. At present, there is no other tennis player in history like Djokovic or as inspirational as Djokovic.

Agassi. Navratilova. Lendl. Seles. There are more.

And none of the above carry baggage like that POS.

Djokovic does inspirational better than them.

Imagine yourself as a kid, and your coach, Jelena Gencic telling you to visualize your dream, then going back 15 years later to that coach as an adult, making that dream come true through hard work and dedication, and showing that coach the results, and having to defeat players like Federer and Nadal along the way, who were established players before you.

People will forget about Agassi, Seles, even Federer and Nadal.

They won’t forget Djokovic.

GOAT is like a political election. There's no unanimous choice, but everyone can vote. You make your choice and make yourself heard by casting a ballot.

Both at their prime.
While Nadal battled with the best version of Federer from his most tender youth , your idol could only settle for being third in contention.
There may only be a year difference between the two, but the miles and wear and tear that Nadal had already achieved in 2011 is not comparable with a player who by then, was really beginning to show his hungry wolf fangs.
So you can manipulate the statistics as you see fit but without context they are pretty empty.

Yes, we know Djo tends to age his opponents. Nadal was worn down at 24! :-D
