Because you have been lied to your entire life about what medicine is capable of, lol.

We don't even understand how many common medications work. Even decades after FDA approval.
Truth is that people get carried away with "progress" and the whole "we're in the 21st century" thing. Humans DO have limits, they cannot advance forever. To believe that humans can solve all problems, all diseases is to believe we are gods. And I for one am not either religious or a Marxist to believe that humans are anything more than irrelevant specks in a vast cosmos.

Yeah. People want to believe that a safety net exists in case they get sick. That the world's 'experts' have it all figured out. For the most part, there isn't. And they don't. Not even close.

Funniest argument I hear repeatedly is - "how can we send people to the moon, but we can't cure ______?"

I mean, we can't even cure acne. As if causing and controlling an explosion that sends something in a specific trajectory is anywhere near as complicated as biological processes that we can't even properly observe.

It has to do with limitations and not greed. Alternative treatments are mostly scams.

The US Department of justice disagrees with you.

"My investigation to date should convince this committee that a conspiracy does exist to stop the free flow and use of drugs in interstate commerce which allegedly has solid therapeutic value. Public and private funds have been thrown around like confetti at a country fair to close up and destroy clinics, hospitals, and scientific research laboratories which do not conform to the viewpoint of medical associations."

100% agree.

And the worst thing is, every generation is dumber than the previous. Irony. We are regressing, yet the plebs expect miracles from the science elites. Intellectually challenged slobs who only whine.
