Caroline Wozniacki

Tonight I took my 7 year old daughter to watch Caroline Wozniacki play Jelena Dokic. My daughter is a huge fan of Carloine's and has a poster of her on her wall. Caroline won 6-1,6-2. As the match was ending I told my daughter to go get a autograph on her oversize tennis ball. Caroline could not have been anymore gracious or sweet to my little girl. She took time to not only sign the ball, but she asked about her tennis game and said "keep at it you are going to be a great player." My daughter said, "I will be at all your matches this week." Carloine responded that she will be looking for her and gave her a big hug. I watched all this and I can say this was truley genuine. Caroline was smiling as big as my daughter was, and gave her a big hug. It may have been just a small gesture, but it meant everything to my daughter, especially after Andy Roddick basically blew her off earlier in the evening after his practice session. All I can say is I am a huge Carloine Wozniacki fan and will support her for the duration of her career.

I'm a fan of her as well. She has a very sweet smile, and I wish I can go see her play in person. By the way, I can't believe Roddick was being such a j...k to your little girl!

depends how you catch andy. like you ive seen him be such a nice guy and be great with the kids and on the other side i watched him destroy rackets and throw them over the fence all while swearing bad enough that someone had to to stop him. i honestly think he just doesnt care at all. if he feels like being nice he will but if he wants to leave hes gonna.

Last week i was at the Pattaya open and guess who suddenly stood next to me, yep Caroline, looked very attractive i must say and nice legs, she was warming up backstage.

She's one of my fav WTA players. Great attitude, very pleasant on the eyes n she can PLAY.

I'm liking her more n more each time I read about her.

Nice to hear that there are always stars that aren't stuck up. She's a very genuine girl though. She's very easy on the eye and it seems stardom hasn't got into her head like other players. Disappointing that Jelena lost though, was always going to happen after the AO run though.

That's a great story. To see that your hero is a genuinely nice and caring person and can take the time to talk and hug your daughter, it's a life-changer. This is what I've always admired so much in Roger Federer as well. He once told a class of school kids that "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." It's a wonderful outlook on life that Caroline also cleary demostrates.

Most players I've seen seem relatively friendly to the kids after practice or after a win.

They're a lot more variable in how they react after they've just lost.

Nice story! She always seems a nice girl to me, hopefully succes doesn't change her in the future.

Caroline is playing right now, she is up 5-1 in the first over Severine Bremond. My daughter, unfortunately for her, is at school. If Caroline goes on for the win today, and plays in the day session again tomorrow, I think my daughter my have to take a personal day and miss school.

Wozzy's parents are also some of the more rational and pleasant parents on the tour. It's easy to see where Caroline got it.

Hopefully, her temperament isn't an impediment to her success--she doesn't seem to have the "killer instinct."

WHERE are the pics ?? while this is going on, you could have taken a few pics, you know......

and as for Caroline,,,,i always heard she is really nice person... that is why i am going to Marry her...

shes my fav WTA player. Great looking, and her tennis is improving a lot. She has a bright tennis career future. Glad to see shes a great person too

I'm taking my wife and two daughters to see Caroline play in the finals today against Victoria Azarenka. She is also teaming with Azarenka to play in the doubles final. My daughter is psyched to say the least. Go Caroline!

I like Caroline a lot as well. Saw her in person in Hong Kong last year. She's got potential to be #1 someday. I wish her all the best this season. Hopefully she'll be at least top 10 by end of the year.

Caroline got beat in the finals last night by Azarenka 6-1, 6-3. Azarenka played incredible, crushing the ball all night. After the match they teamed up to win the doubles. I wish them both the best of luck for the rest of the season, especially Caroline.

Azarenka is really good. She should have beaten Serena at AO. I think she has a great future. To me Caroline is one of the cutest, most pleasant players to watch but I doubt she'll ever be the best.

So I guess Wozniacki made it through this tourney without getting dq'd for calling a chair umpire an effing a-hole? Good for her. Maybe she's growing up.

Jim, I hope both you and your daughter are still Caro fans. Good times at the moment! :)
