Casper Ruud has reached 3 Slam finals and 2 M1000 finals and he's won 1 set in 5 matches. He also reached a career-high ranking of #2. Has a losing h2h against Rublev, winning h2h against Fritz.

Taylor Fritz has reached 1 Slam final but won a single M1000 title. Losing h2h against Ruud, but winning h2h against Rublev. Highest career-high ranking of #5.

Andrey Rublev has never reached a Slam semifinal, but has 2 M1000 titles and 4 additional finals. Same career-high ranking as Fritz - #5.

On the one hand, Ruud seems to have an advantage, but his inability to bring home the hardware is noteworthy in my opinion.

There is always some confusion when three very irrelevant players are combined into the poll. But I would have to go with Fritz.

Masters title + slam finals is good enough. Plus he is American.

Ruud looked like a joke in 2 rg finals (USO less so). But he has better career ahead.

Rublev. Yuck. He won 2 masters but I just can't find anything appealing.

Irrelevant players...coming from an irrelevant poster on anonymous board. And we wonder why there is no room for tennis discussion.

And what the heck does being American have to do with this poll?

I am irrelevant. But so are these three. Their career is but a footnote in tennis history. As they retire they will be forgotten unless they do something good.

Even zverev will be forgotten unless he does something in next 2 years.

And I also answered the question. Fritz being an American is important because USA needs to be in tennis. He is the number 1 American, first guy to make finals of USOpen since 2006 from USA. And last masters 1000 winner from USA.

USA brings most of the money in tennis.

Rublev is 8 days older than Fritz, and Ruud is about 14 months younger.
Someone else can count the beans (titles, finals, SF, QF etc) and quantify with points if they like to. I show this chart (last column shows matches played as top10).

Interesting question precisely because I couldn't give an answer. I've thought about it a lot and I can't come to a conclusion on which order to place them, or rather, after apparently being convinced, I immediately change my opinion. Maybe because there is no answer at the moment.
Rublev is certainly by far the most consistent, while Ruud is the one who has reached the highest performance peaks among the 3. Fritz could be a happy medium on both issues.

So they beat all the people they should in other words, but Casper is the least likely to beat players ranked above him.

So, would it be more important for Fritz to reach another major final or to reach a #2 ranking?

I’d have to say Rublev because he’s been much more consistent than the other two and is good on all 3 surfaces. He also has 2 Big Titles whereas Fritz has 1 and Ruud is putting up a bagel. Fritz does have an additional slam final which makes him close. But I’d still give it to Rublev.

Ruud might have higher career ranking and has reached more major finals than the other 2 but his sheer lack of any Masters 1000 success is telling and a big blotch for him.

Ruud has not won anything beyond a 500 tournament, but the comparison is not exactly with two tennis players who are full of important tournaments. For example, Rublev, who I repeat is the most constant of the 3, is the one who carries the big stain of never having reached the quarter-finals in a slam so far, something he shared with Fritz before the last US Open, while Ruud at On the contrary, at major level he boasts 3 finals and a semi-final, to which he can add a final at the ATP Finals. In the masters 1000, despite never having won one so far, unlike the other two, here too he boasts 2 finals and 7 other semi-finals.
