Casual fans want Djokovic to win probably

I want Nadal to win but if he loses that USO 2013 final becomes so big. There will be comfort in going into 2021 still 2nd in the race.
But lets all agree 2021 will be when its all decided if Djokovic wins so neutrals surely want Djokovic to win?

I expect most casual fans would prefer Nadal to win because he is a lot more popular to casual fans than Djokovic.

It's really not very complicated and I don't think casual fans think about the slam race in those terms. They root for the guy they like the most.

Casual fans would actually prefer Rafa to win because it’s more historically significant. He’s far more popular and liked than Novak. Plus for Fed fans it’s ok for one to tie Roger but not two which will definitely happen if Novak wins.

I can't believe I am agreeing but yes. I don't know why everyone is consumed with this race. They have 17, 19 and 20 Slams. I mean once you reach a certain level, does it really matter as much anymore?

Yup - they're all on the same platform of greats and will probably remain intertwined. Inseparable in discussions / debates. The only way that changes is if someone wins the Grand Slam and elevates themselves to the "next level".

Yeah Djokovic is the one player that can make Nadal feel uncomfortable even on clay. Rafa still deserves to be favourite but for me this will be close and epic!

Why are any of us trying to second guess what casual fans want? We're the type of people who stay up late and show up for school/work feeling exhausted because we wanted to see the world number 21 play an ATP 250 semi final against an unseeded teenager.

How do you know that it ends the slam race for Novk and it does not for the other two when Novk is either winning GS or making the finals? * I do not count USO as he got DQ in a freak accident that happens once in 100 years) Thieam won USO because Novk got DQ - period. And no other guy from the weak era can win it as long as Novk and Nadl are around. So, how?
