Challenge: construct a great player from the shots/attributes of 2nd tier players

You're not allowed to use any shot/attribute from any player in the ATP top 20;

Couple of pointers;

Try not to include players who would usually be in the top 20 except for injury or old age, such as Del-Potro and Hewitt. We want the true 2nd tier guys here, not the washed up or injured former 1st tier players.

Try to take into account the size of the Frankenstein player you're building. For example, it's a bit unrealistic to say the guy has the great movement of a guy the size of Grosjean, but then he also has Karlovic's first serve and Isner's second serve. If you give a guy Karlovic's serve, you'd have to pick someone like Pospisil for the movement category (because he is a good mover at around Karlovic's size) - and not Dolgopolov, for example.

Try to use different players for each thing.

I'll go first;

1st Serve: Becker
2nd Serve: Kohlschreiber
R.O.S.: Seppi
Forehand: Verdasco
Backhand: Almagro
Backhand Slice: Dolgopolov
'Touch + Feel': Youzhny
Volleys: Stepanek
Movement + Anticipation: Sousa
Mental Toughness: Robredo

It would be interesting to also discuss whether you think the player above (and the players you guys create) would actually be Slam winners in this era, and if they would be able to get wins over Nadal/Federer/Djokovic with these solid collections of '2nd tier' shots...

Your turn...

1st Serve: Sam Groth
2nd Serve: Sam Groth
R.O.S.: Santiago Giraldo
Forehand: Verdasco
Backhand: Benoit Paire
Backhand Slice: Tomic
'Touch + Feel': Dustin Brown
Volleys: Llodra
Movement + Anticipation: Victor Troicki
Mental Toughness: Robredo

My player would be GOAT. Groth can take Fed to tiebreaks on virtually serve alone. My player has highlight reels on youtube for all his shots. Verdasco clubbing forehands, Benoit hitting insane backhand winners. Tomic hitting backhand slice passes and winners. Dustin Brown trickshots and drop volleys. Giraldo highlight reel of most outrageous returns, clean return winners from 5 feet behind baseline. Troicki is a great mover for a 6"3+ guy. Robredo is an overachiever thanks to his mental toughness.

Santiago Giraldo's returns are absurd. Will never understand why more guys don't just go for broke more often on serves. A lot of guys seem to do it the first point when they're up 40-0 or 40-15 break points (Karlovic just did it against Fed today to break), and of course we all remember Djokovic saving match points against Fed in USO with the strategy. Especially if you're a bad returner who normally can't break, why not just go for it at least on the first point to have a chance at 15-0?
