Ferrer's serve is better than Fognini's, Gulbis' forehand may look strange but it is better than Gasquet's, and Federer's backhand is still much better than someone like Tsonga or Isner.

I was using everyone only once. For the rest we simply disagree.

Lol forgot Del Potro is not top 20 any more.

I don't know, there's a lot of good backhands in the top 20, like Djokovic's, Murray's, Anderson's, Raonic's...

Where are you getting that from...much better than Novaks to say the least.
Also Murrays forehand has improved mountains.

Lol, Murray's forehand is worse in top 10? Now that's amusing.
Better than cilic, nishi, raonic, and ferrer for starters

2nd serve: Murray (worst Big 4 service shot by far)
Forehand: Gulbis - What a shocker that one is
Backhand: Karlovic
Volleys: Djokovic or Ferrer
Overhead: Djokovic (has he ever made one of these?)
Footwork: Berdych (http://youtu.be/MQNomnGM2qo?t=9m59s)
Stamina: Nishikori by retirement
Mental: Clownini or Tomic the tank engine

Health Overall: Nadal
Knees: Nadal
Wrist: Del Potro
Back: Nishikori or 2013 Federer
Appendix: Nadal

 at anyone saying Federer or Nadal for any non-health category, esp. backhand.
Fed has the most underrated backhand in top 20 easily. His backhand slice gives Novak fits.

How can we get along after something outrageous like that.

Not just 2013, Federer's back has been an issue all his career. Without his back problems he would have won +30 majors.

Tests carried out have concluded that muscles and tendons in his back contain a unique fibre called Rafaphobiaotia.

Federer's BH weak ? LOL.

People who have watched tennis for long readily admit that Fed was one of the first 'complete' player with no obvious weakness.

Berdych has good footwork. That video showing him getting tripped up by a nasty slider is disingenuous. Compare him to Raonic (they're exactly the same height).

I would award a lot of this stuff to Almagro. He really is such a polarized player - extremely good in some areas (power on both groundstrokes and serves), and extremely deficient in a lot of other areas...

As OP states, from the current top 50;

1st serve: Simon
2nd serve: Murray
Forehand: Lu
Backhand: Karlovic
Backhand Slice: Almagro
Volleys: Almagro
Approach Shots: Almagro
Tactics: Almagro/Giraldo
'Touch And Feel': Almagro
Footwork: Karlovic
Stamina: Dolgopolov
Mental: Almagro
Health: Nishikori

So many people underrated Ferrer's serve probably because of his height. The guy wins a load of free points off of it, more than most players.

Gasquet's forehand is far from being the worst of the top 50
The amount of spin he generates, or slice, it's sick
you don't realize on TV but seeing him live his forehand is impressive.
Stepanek's forehand, just to give one, is way worse. Oh Stepanek is not top 50 anymore :)

Regarding the backhand, it depends on what aspect. Federer is known to have the best backhand slice of all time (even his 2014 slice is better than anyone on tour).

If you mean topspin or flat backhand then it depends, are we talking about just consistency alone or ability to hit winners and win points with it. In his prime federer's backhand was solid in consistency and very good for producing winners. Probably one of the best down the line backhands. Over the last few years his backhand became less consistent with federer dumping a lot into the net, hitting shanks and not even being able to get his backhand on the ball.

2014 is a different story with his new racket: he is no longer able to hit many winners off the backhand (due to the bigger racket and less precision) but he is probably top 4 in terms of consistency hitting topspin. I'd say his backhand in 2014 is definitely more consistent than his forehand. With both his backhand and forehand this year he is more likely to hit long and wide than dump it into the net. It is his forehand that usually causes the error. Aside from nadal, every player this year including Djokovic keeps pouncing his backhand but it keeps coming back strong with topsin and they often are better off hitting to the forehand and getting an error when federer tries to hit a winner close to the lines. Djokovic is on top for hitting backhand cross court winners and hitting down the line but federer is more consistent this year with his backhand.

So I'd say his prime backhand topsin/flat drive was closer to the best in the top twenty and his 2014 is just the same. And as stated his slice is the best.

yeah, it's hard to find a worst forehand for the Top 50 because it is the stronger stroke of most players. I named Gasquet's for the way he uses it, especially as of late (much too loopy and passive).

well at least I know Volandri's not in the top 50... and yes I was unsure about the serve because I indeed don't know a lot about most of the players ranked past 26.

as an aside karlovic's forehand is actually quite inconsistent, i'm surprised nobody has mentioned his forehand instead of murray (really?)

To anyone that puts Milos' backhand over Federer, explain yourselves! And stay off the sauce ffs

Andreas Seppi has a much worse forehand than dickey.

Actually, I'm surprised Seppi isn't everyones pick for 1st and 2nd serve and forehand.

I still don't know how he wins anything.

"Dope" is a Swiss thingy (f.e. Armstrong).
This one makes me  every time you say it.

Neither Armstrong, nor his doctors, were Swiss.

Armstrong's doctor was Spanish.

Oh yeah, and....
Armstrong had the exact same doctor as Nadal.

So because the pharma companies are Swiss (they actually aren't all Swiss anyway), that means doping is Swiss?

That's like saying that Russia produces most guns, so armed robbery is primarily a Russian thing.
