Chances of Alcaraz winning the US Open?

He won multiple MS1000s on HC too but ok. As of right now RAFA’s 05 season is well ahead of Tiny Carl’s. With a 79-10 record and 11 titles total it’s not even close.
The point is not that Carlos' is better than 19 year old Rafa. The point is he hits a bigger ball, plays with more variety than young Rafa and plays a much more offensive style of tennis. Which is why a lot of us Fed fans are on the bandwagon.

19 year old Rafa hasn't been surpassed level wise just yet, at least not in my time watching tennis. Personally, I just prefer Carlos' brand of tennis to Rafa's brand of tennis

Expect that’s not what he was saying. He pretty much said that RAFA was just a CC player in 05 (even though he had more success on HC than Carl had prior to the USO). And RAFA was clearly more explosive. Now if he said that Carl played the higher risk more offensive game from the start then there would be no need for the back and forth that we had. I mean the guy said that RAFA didn’t win anything on HC in 05…when he won multiple MS1000’s and was honestly screwed pretty bad in a 3rd one.

Fair enough, I saw your back and forth afterwards. The comment you replied to didn't say anything about CC though:
"if you cant enjoy carlos tennis you are so so miserable really, change sport, he has the most exciting, explosive and espectacular tennis since federer, like it or not, just unbelievable he has all the shots at 19, i cant remember a 19 year old playing that big"

Reg. "explosive", I'm not sure there's a clear definition of what people mean, when they use that to describe a player. Anyhow, no biggie -> moving on

Well that wasn't the comment he replied to though; at least it didn't say anything about Rafa. The correct one was
I knew someone would say it, i love rafa, i watched all those seasons, he won all the caly in amazing fashion, but it was more clay tennis, yeah he was explosive too, but he was also about not missing, great powerful balls but also a lot of neutral balls down the middle and running a lot, i just feel nobody today hits as big as carlos when he catches the ball in front
"it was more clay tennis" is the punchline here.

Sorry, I am not familiar with this notation. Does it means that if I bet $233 on Alcaraz, if he wins I get paid back my bet of $223 plus a $190 profit?
That means if you wanna win $100, you must bet $233 on Alcaraz (which explains the - sign); but if you bet $100 on Ruud, then you can win $190 (which explains the + sign). From this you could see this is closer than what most people would think about; Alcaraz should be the heavy favorite given his current form and H2H vs Ruud.

The US system is very confusing to me too. European odds/decimal:

As per the initial odds, Carlos Alcaraz is the pick to win this match.
Carlos Alcaraz -> 1.6
Casper Ruud -> 2.46

Strictly based on the odds, I think that Alcaraz is the favorite, but not a heavy favorite.

three types of odds, american, european and british...american yea is the hardest to get, more easy way to explain how they work is..positive odds we need to divide by 100 and adding 1 to that, +150/100+1=2,5..but with negative odds it's vice versa: we need 100 divide by 150 and then again adding 1=1,66..
the best/easiest type of odds is european, pretty simple we need 1,5 multiply by our amount of funds we wanna place on it (1,6 on swiatek means 100 bucks multiply by 1,6 =160 is our outcome where 60 bucks is clear profit, ..and british odds are somewhere in the middle (in terms of difficulty)

I would lie if I say I understood something.

He isn’t winning anything. He needs to take some HGH pills before he gets his hands on a major title
