Changes YOU would make to the ATP/WTA tour

1. I'd make everyone play with wooden rackets.

2. Play let points.

3. Only one serve.

4. No advantage rule.

5. And two balls in play at once to reduce the resting between points !

Lol

I'd make em play with a potato instead of a ball to remind them that tennis is a game of skill--its too easy with these high bounces.
I'd allow distractors--the players are allowd to hurl their racquets at their opponents once per set--if a player is knocked unconscious he is defaulted and his assailant is the victor. This would reward players who use heavy racquets as they tend to cause much more severe blunt trauma.

-Cut women's pay in half.

-Instant replay at all venues

-Fifth set tie breaks at every slam. (God, who wants to watch a match for 8 hours, even the players agree with me on this one, thank you very much.)

-More night matches at big events, meaning, install lights at Wimbledon and Paris.

Replace the shotspot/hawkeye system with the slow motion "mac cam" which is far more accurate and have unlimited challenges regardless of being correct or incorrect.

Make all men's matches best of three sets.

Since the WTA matches generate more television ratings, more wta matches should be shown on tv than atp matches.

Where did you get this from? I didn't think there were enough viewers for WTA events to generate any ratings. But if this is the case, an effort should be made to push for tv broadcast of joint WTA/ATP matches so that ATP can piggy back on the WTA, so to speak.

Well than you, Britain, are very lucky.

The Eurosport channel, which is picked up throughout Europe, seems to favor WTA to ATP at least 2:1. My guess, and its only a wild guess, is that the ATP tournaments themselves are at fault. I presume that they enforce some form of blackout on broadcasts or even keep the tv networks out of the stadium. Just don't know, but it seems strange that so few ATP tournaments are seen live. Lots of reruns but few live events. Oddly enough the USO was shown live, which made it difficult to watch at 3am in the morning.

You didn't know ? It's not grass. It's actually green clay ! :)

I certainly did not know. My question then is, how come Nadal, the clay court specialist, has not been winning Wimbledon consistently a la the French? And, in reverse, if Federer wins at Wibledon, then its not clay thats keeping him from winning the French, is it?

Lol. How about tennis just being played with a rock, with no racquets. Players simply hurl the ball at one another. A point is scored when someone gets hit or the ball goes out/into the net (or receiving player cannot catch the "in" rock which has been thrown at him). Of course, GSM when there is a traumatic injury.

#5 would be if you swear or throw your racket, you are fined right away, or points are taken away right then and there no warning.

If they do this, then every match ever held comes with an asterix in that who would have won if so and so had been charged points like they do now.

Say goodbye to JMac's career.
