Decision, decision!

For some reason, I tried to watch The Snowman again. Now that I have experienced many losses and feel like it's happening so regularly now, I just can't do it. Too hard to watch. Plus, the ending song.

That's an interesting take, putting the GOAT debate back in the pre-Open Era. Hoard or Pancho... that's a whole different rabbit hole, honestly.

Welcome to the thread! I'm genuinely curious about your objectivity struggle as a Djokovic fan; I feel like that's a universal challenge for any super-fan. You gotta pick a side on the Agassi vs. Sampras debate now, just to get us started, haha

Glad that you like them both. Guys usually prefer red especially Sud, lol. And yes, I got them both, life’s too short!

And matching two mini purses too and a gold bracelet watch. Greedy!

Nice, but can you walk on the icy streets of Toronto with these shoes?

:(I don't think I have ever seen The Snowman. Is it the one below?

High heels can cause bad posture by shifting your weight forward, forcing your lower back to over-arch (hyperlordosis) and your upper body to lean back to compensate. This chain reaction can lead to a variety of problems, including shortened calf muscles, increased pressure on your joints, and pain in the lower back, hips, knees, and neck.

How do high heels impact the natural alignment of the spine and posture?

The elevation of the heel in high-heeled shoes tends to force the lower spine into an exaggerated curvature, known as hyperlordosis. This increased curvature, particularly in the lumbar region, can lead to lower back pain and discomfort.

Does wearing high heels always result in an altered gait and walking pattern?

Wearing high heels consistently results in a modified gait and walking pattern characterized by a shorter stride length, forward-leaning posture, and altered foot motion. The concentration of body weight on the forefoot increases pressure, potentially leading to discomfort and musculoskeletal issues over time.

Are there alternatives to high heels that are better for foot health?

Alternatives such as flats, sneakers, or shoes with lower and wider heels can be better for foot health as they provide better support and reduce the risk of foot-related issues.

No, it's the one Mainad posted. A very sad Christmas short movie about a boy having no friends, parents disconnected, and then the snowman he builds melts because that's just the way it is.

Maybe as a child, I could shrug it off. Not now.

Oh man! I was so far off but anyway, I think you should be like a kid and enjoy the present moment and avoid lurking in the past. Christmas is around the corner after all. Cherish the memories instead!

Btw, I see Barton is now ‘Guest’ meaning he’s deleted his account again and within the same year too. So flaky, sheessh. I guess he couldn’t take the abuse from the kids anymore.

Some people find Canada depressing due to factors like long, cold winters that can lead to seasonal affective disorder (SAD), high cost of living, particularly housing prices, and challenges with social connection and community building. Other contributing factors cited include declining healthcare quality, perceived economic hardship, and difficulties for immigrants finding their place.
Hi everyone! I came to Canada 7 years ago, and the feeling of what it was back in 2017 and present days, is very different. Firstly, I felt that people in the past were more friendly with more smiles on their faces. During the walks in neighborhood I think 8 out of 10 people were saying "Hi" to you. While now, during the walk maybe 1 or 2 persons greet you, and other one just walking without the smile and sometimes you can see how they just trying to keep away from you. Secondly, what I noticed that now people trust you less in terms of payments or services, and also more conflicts regarding customer service.

What is the reason that people becoming not friendly? I have few guesses for that.

First, maybe the level of the life decreased significantly, and the gap between poor and rich increases. Second, maybe there are a lot of low skill immigrants that crushing labor market prices that let’s say Real Estate is skyrocketing and salary doesn't increase significantly. Third, maybe there are consequences of covid lockdowns which made lots of people antisocial.

That were just my thoughts.

What the rest of Canadians are thinking about that?
.
A Canadian here asked me to buy something from Australia because it's so much cheaper compared to buying it in Canada.

A tram ride in Toronto costs roughly CAD 3.30 while where I live in Australia it only costs CAD 0.46 no matter how far you go (same price for Ferry, train, buses, no matter how far you go in the state and not inter state).

I had a crazy weekend as my locker owner dropped a bomb on me and said that I would have to move my stuff out because he’s selling his condo apartment. That was so last minute! Anyway, I rented a storage unit nearby and moved my stuff out by November 30 with the help of my sister and my cousin.

This was very unexpected but maybe it’s a good thing, because I don’t have to deal with him anymore given how he would scan me every time I saw him.

I sell stuff that I don't really need. Having less stuff around creates a sense of peace and tranquillity.

So you have never visited Canada? Maybe you should and see for yourself if it’s similar to Antartica or not!
No never been there and oh yeah I would love to visit it. It's not easy though for me to, as I am mostly a long weekend traveler lol.

If you’re in Europe and you are, a long weekend is all you need for travel, lol. If I had a lot of money and a lot of time, I would have travelled the whole world. There’s just so much to see and so much to experience.

I traveled a lot, in the past. All around the world, but not in Canada lol. Now I have a bit less desire to do that. I still like to travel though, but usually to places that are mostly already know and I know I like. I want to go there again and again, never never tired.

That’s good and I get it, really. Once you’ve travelled enough, the desire does tend to settle down. I have a weird thing and it’s with most things and that is, once I have experienced something especially to the fullest and deepest, I know longer desire it. For example, I would never visit Australia again or any place where I have already been. But if I have a home or cottage somewhere, say, in Muskoka then I would visit or go home again and again, because it’s my home/cottage. It’s my anchor.

Same with relationships, I have experienced a couple of deep relationships, I now no longer desire it. Maybe some interest here and there but I know myself better. That’s why it’s very easy for me to remain friends with my EXs because I no longer desire them. Once it’s over, it’s really over for me.

I finally finished The Fall - tonight actually. It’s only 17 episodes but still took me 3 weeks to finish it due to unexpected issues.

Anyway, Paul Spector is an enigma, a highly complex character. I couldn’t tell if he was faking his amnesia or if he was really experiencing it for a brief period of time. Also, if he really couldn’t tell the difference between reality and fantasy. I think it’s quite possible. Anyway, I wish they had explored more into this fascinating fictional character.

Windsor The Second, there are some geographical similarities between Antartica and Canatica; however, there are no permanent residents in Antartica. They get around 1,000 scientists and staff during winter and around 5,000 in the summer. On the other hand, Canatica has about 42 million people. And that’s just one of the many things that separates Canatica from Antartica.

How dare you compare the two. You should be punished. @Windsor2

Joking aside, I luv Antartica too.

Long lasting true love is the most beautiful thing you can have in life.

When I visit a new country I like to explore the countryside, not just the big cities, otherwise it will just feel like other big cities. The countryside is where you usually get to know the identity of a country. You get to see more of its wildlife, the local people and its culture. The big cities are all the same, with their capitalism and pollution.

Yeah it's happened and it's happening to my too. But, probably, I'm not as good as you in quitting situations the moment I experience a lack of interest. Ironically, I feel that my partner is, if possible, more enthusiastic about the relationship when this happens, and I find it hard to quit because I know how painful it would be for her.

Lol at some similarities. Yes, Antartica is basically an endless ice sheet populated only by polar bears, penguins and Eskimo, while Canada has a (tiny) strip of land where most people live. But, considering the immense size of the country, which is bigger than the whole of Europe, 42 millions is very few, the vast majority of the country remains uninhabited, except for penguins, polar bears, and Eskimos, of course.

There is no polar bear in Antarctica. Polar bear is in the Arctic.

There are no penguins in the Arctic. Penguins live in Antarctica.

One is as far north as you can get, the other as far south as you can get. They are literally poles apart.

The only possible scenario where I would think twice if we had small children and if my partner was a good father, because kids need both parents. But I would never put myself in that position in the first place because it’s heavily binding and once you have kids, you are responsible for them forever and there’s no freedom in that.

As I have mentioned before that my freedom means everything to me since childhood. I may like or love someone deeply but I know in my heart that ultimately I will look for ways to get out. I can’t help but feel that everything is about the experience, this life. Once you have experienced it there’s no need to pursue it further. Death is a clear indication that nothing is meant to last forever so there’s no reason to feel guilty about it. Plus, outside birth and death, everything is human and social construct. In other words, no need to follow the script. My motto has always been live fully and freely. I don’t waste time thinking about the past. Life is about moving on - with or without.

42 millions is still a lot I feel. In fact, I would prefer it if it were less. I hear California has more people than Canada, lol.

Anyway, it’s not like rest of Canada is empty; it has vast wilderness, more lakes than the rest of the world combined, mountains, prairies, falls, coastlines etc. A lot of natural beauty, resources and wonders etc.
