Cheapest but best place to get racquet customized?

I am wanting my racquets to be matched and customized.
I am on a budget so I want to know what the cheapest (but best quality) place would be to get my racquets matched.

Thanks!

I do a lot of my own lead tape jobs and stuff, or have so far. However, I lack a machine to give me swingweight information and stuff so I need someone else to do it.

I am very particular about my racquets, and I am a college tennis player so I want it very precise.

There is no local store in order to figure out an accurate swingweight.

trust me, I would have been there already.

I just want to know a good professional place to do it to make sure everything is accurate.

On all my previous racquets I have done my own customizations. I know how to do a lot of it and the effects lead tape or weight in different areas do to the playing characteristics of a racquet.
I just need it to be more precise than that.

Thank you though.

You can ship your frames to TW for customizing
I believe the fee is still $20 per racquet that needs work

Special thanks to [d]ragon for mentioning TW!

We do offer customization services and for the price of shipping and $20 per racquet, we can arrange to have your racquets customized.

Please contact our customer service department for further details and expected time frames (depending on how busy our MRT's are) to complete the work, but I have a feeling we can work something out for you.

I hope this is helpful and good luck!

There's a swing weight app for your iPhone. It works the same as the manual method described in TW University. You have to know your rackets weight, balance point, and then you hang it from a table on 2 pencils and let it swing. Point your iphone camera at the handle and push start. Based on the TW manual customization tool, it is accurate if done correctly. You'll also need a good measuring tape as you have to enter distance from pencils to end of butt. You also need a gram scale to weigh your racket. You can use the end of flat table as a balance board. The app cost about $2 or $3.

By the way, if you buy rackets from TW, have them give you 2 matched rackets. They match 2 rackets for me with exact balance and swingweight - charge $10 per racket but it is worth it. The static weight was about 2 grams apart. Basically, they are over 99% the same - within 1% margin which is very good. If you know the beginning attributes and have a matched pair, you can use the TW manual customization tool to see how lead will impact weight, balance, and swingweight.

You can do it yourself if you want but it will take a few bucks and some time.

Thanks for the help guys!
Sounds like TW offers the best deal. I will definitely get in contact with the customer service department soon.

Also, thank you TennisCJC for the detailed response. That tool probably works great...however I have a problem trusting those things (or maybe myself doing it correctly-- Not that it is hard). I would feel just a little more comfortable trusting someone that has a real swingweight machine.
I am also not getting the racquets from TW but instead straight from Tecnifibre with my partial sponsorship. So I can not ask them to match them for me.

Check your local c r a I g s. list there will likely be. Racquet tech advertiIng services if you are not comfortable with DIY.

meh if you can find someone under $20/stick... gee, I wouldn't risk them :(

Experienced MRTs here charge like $50/hr so I've been told.

Part of customizing is playtesting to find out what specs suit you best,
long winded process that can take forever.

Yeah not so sure cheap is going to be part of the equation here. By the time the op pays someone else to do the discounted frames it may have been cheaper to have bought the frames from tw and used the matching service. I have used tw matching service, it is excellent! ( and cheap ha ha!)

Don't you have a local tennis shop with a RDC machine? I'll bet they will measure them and give you weight, balance and SW for each for a small fee especially if you buy something in their shop. Then you can use the TW manual customization worksheet to match your rackets - see the worksheet here if you are interested: http://twu.tennis-warehouse.com/learning_center/customizationReverse.php

This is my last try to convince you to DIYS. I know some people just prefer to have an "experienced" person do the work and that's fine too.

Not sure if anyone has offered a review here of their experience with this though TW, but I'd certainly appreciate your write-up after you get it done. I'll bet the TW staff might appreciate it, too.
