The Eastern team from the NYAC has seven 7.0 rated players on their roster including Bogolmov, Brendan Evans, Amer Delic, and Kaes Van't Hof, Scott Oudesma is a lowly 6.0. Texas has Ryan Harrison and a couple of other former pros on their roster, while Intermountain has the Shields brothers.

Yeah but they haven't seen Leed's lefty kicker, Suresh's wicked topspin or my patented EB reverse kicker (only used on match point because who knows if I'll be able serve after hitting it ;). I think TT takes it 6-3, 6-4 ;)

Where's Juan? I figure he will be a 6.0 by the time he is 50, he gets better with age :)

Why would professional players even play in this ( is their any money to actually be made?)

I mean it's hardly for bragging rights to go beat some 5.5's

seems like travel expenses and time away from making money or making progress in the professional game would be more important.

I could see a former pro (that's 55+ maybe just out their for the fun of it)

Last few years Kendrick has played a local money tourney here in jax. He last in finals this year, and won year before. This is dubs, so knowing who all he played, he is probably playing at about that level.

I will be there but my team didn't make it this year. I play in several invitationals every year in Vegas with them. It's good fun.

Makes 5.5 a very high level of play, doesn't it? Seems it makes 5.5 better than top D-1 singles.

Yeah it is just a local league so no big deal.
But how did they get these guys to show up? They must be getting something- money, a free room and travel expenses, or why bother?

Just noticed one of the captains of the NorCal teM is a 4.5, is he going to actually play?:)

There may be some money involved but that is the club he trained at even when he was on the ATP. His coach was one of our 5.0 players last year and was formerly 268 in the world. There is no prize for winning the league. It's pretty laid back.

Looks like the Texas team won it, the NY team with all the 7.0's went 1-2 in pool play. Bogolmov lost a doubles match, as did Delic, Evans, Brett Joelson, and Ludovic Walter (no idea who that is, but he was rated 7.0).

Wow this would have been a blast, too bad our section did not field a team this year. I might have gone and this would have been the perfect year to go it seems

It was fun. I did end up playing, but we got hammered. I only won one match all weekend and the team availability was very hurt with injuries. It was still a good time though. Vegas is never bad.

Oh and for you fact checkers out their that like to go back and research. I play for a Nevada team verses where I live (Georgia).

Hey Anthony, I tried to email you at the yahoo address but it bounced. Wanted to see if you wanted to hit Wednesday as I'm playing at Lakeway on Thursday. I'm at srob12 at Hotmail.
