Chinese men’s tennis rising

That Wu seemed like he has a lot of talent from what I watched. Don't think he would cut it with the top dogs though.

So this has been a great week for Chinese men’s tennis. Shang, Bu, Zhang will all be in the top 100 now. And Wu would be as well if he wasn’t injured.

Overall this is great for the ATP to get some fans in the region.

Hopefully all of them can continue to progress well on the ATP.
Wu yibing is the most disappointing one. He completely disappeared and doesnt seem interested in tennis anymore. Ranked 566 now.

Having a hot influencer gf probably distracted him

It's was amazing that Zhang in October 2022, was the first Chinese player ever to break into the ATP top 100, and Wu in February 2023 was the first Chinese player ever to win an ATP title.

Clearly success by players from such an enormous market, is only a positive thing for the sport.

I watched Shang play a couple of matches at a challenger last year, including a qualifying match when I was literally the only person in the (admittedly relatively small) crowd rooting for him, and have been pleased to see his encouraging progress since then.
