Chris-question re review of IG Instinct MP

Hi Chris:

As always, I enjoyed your video review of the Head IG Instinct MP. During your review, you indicated that you are looking at some more powerful frames such as this one.

I am a middle aged 4.0 formerly 4.50-5.0 all-courter with chronic knee issues including arthritis and an intricate procedure so my footwork is not what it used to be and I don't always set up the way I used to. I have been playing some singles but more doubles these days as a result of doctor recommendation.
My current stick is a Youtek Radical MP customized to be a little heavier for stability and more headlight than stock.

My question are how does the Instinct perform for doubles and would this stick be a good alternative in my situation to my Radical?

Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the woes with your knee issues. First let me wish you the best of health and I'll send thoughts of speedy footwork your way.

I think the Instinct would be well worth a demo for you. You should find lots more of what I call free power with it. In other words, you wont have to work the mass of the racquet to find easy access to depth and pace. The Instinct offers a really nice response that is both lively and surprisingly solid considering its light weight. The open string pattern helps spit the ball out with plenty of spin, too. Another plus is there is a ton of room for you to add weight to it so you can match the stability of your customized Radical should you feel the need.

The S version packs even more pop and pretty much everyone here who has hit it, feels like they don't have to sacrifice control to get it. Might as well add the S to your demo list, too.

Happy hitting.

Thanks for the well wishes and advice Chris. I will give them both a shot. Is the Dunlop Biomentic 500 Tour another alternative?

It would be well worth a demo. I liken the 500 Tour to a faster swinging, more flexible AeroPro Drive GT. Slightly less pop than an AeroPro Drive GT or a Youtek IG Instinct and best strung low -- especially if using a full bed of poly.

Thanks, Chris. Will try it as well. BTW, I usually string with full gut (VS).

I was also thinking about the AeroPro Drive GT.

So these are all great suggestions...as usual.

Thanks again for your responses and appreciate your expertise and help as well as from your other colleagues at TW. You guys are the best!
