Coric is so dangerous right now. He’s more hungry, more rested and probably in better form. I hope Stef can step up and take this. But I think Coric might even do it in straight or in 3.

I'll have to root for Pechipas, else I'll have a severe crisis tomorrow and I don't know if I can handle it.

If you love tennis, I don't see how it's possible to root against Coric right now

Guy goes from being an injured never-was to the most dangerous player on tour in the span of a week?

All of a sudden he looks like he might be the player tennis needs--a guy who can go the distance and hold his nerve against the B2 at a Slam

He has swag, big-game mentality, and a real exertion grunt as opposed to the whiny hindrance grunts almost everyone else uses

Has he even lost a set since beating Rafa? The run this dude is on is just unreal

So if Coric is able to win, he will have run this gauntlet:

Musetti, Nadal, RBA, FAA, Norrie, Tsitsipas.

That's some lineup.

Would this or Tim van Rijthoven winning 's-Hertogenbosch be the biggest surprise of the year?

Reminder of one of the biggest chokes ever seen in tennis. 5-1, and then 5-4 40-0...

Coric will straight-set him if he is anywhere close to the level he displayed against Nada, RBA and Norrie,

It's really not. Funny enough Norrie may have been his strongest opponent for where Coric was followed by Nadal. Tsitsipas will be more worn down. It's a solid draw don't get me wrong but nothing top tier.

For Miami Alcaraz beat Fucsovics-Cilic-Tsitsipas-Kecmanovic-Hurkacz-Ruud. Pretty similar.

Strongest Masters run could be argued following:

Novak Rome: Karatsev, Stan, Felix, Ruud, Tsitsipas
Alcaraz Madrid: NB, Norrie, Nadal, Novak, Zverev

Coric. From the highlights I've seen it looks like he's found a serve. If so, that's a huge problem for the rest of the tour. His ground game and back hand have always been tremendous. He's got a real chance at this USO.

Green light for Coric to become the 4th new M1K champion this year, all on NA HCs (Fritz, Alcaraz and PCB preceded him if he’s successful). He’s a little fresher and has no psychological baggage from their most recent match. Borna in 3.

Coric is certainly capable when healthy. He’s also capable of following a big tournament final win (Halle’18 vs fedr) with a total egg (1R Wimby loss to very green Medvedev as a 4-1 favorite). I’ll wait to see his draw before extending any optimism to approach yours.

Not talking about the same thing though. I'm not saying it's the toughest string of opponents in a tournament that anyone has ever gone through, but rather by someone that was so under the radar that nobody would have ever picked to even make it to the semifinal.

Coric has jumped 104 spots in the rankings. A win in the final would move him up to 29 and a seeding at the USO. The other top players might prefer that so they won’t run into him in the early rounds.
Should Tsitsipas win, he pushes Alcaraz back down to number 5.

It will be fair for Coric to be seeded considering the form he is in. Hope he wins the finals. If he does then all 4 HC masters held till now this year will have been won by 1st time Masters winners. Kind of shows how strong the field is in HC.

So I just checked and maybe someone mentioned it already but if Coric wins Cincy he breaks the record and becomes the lowest ranked player to ever win a masters 1000 title.

Only the 2nd player ever ranked in the 100s to do so after Roberto Carratero, who won Hamburg way back in 1996

That's the issue with the non Fedalovic players. There's a high chance he follows up this masters 1000 final with an absolute stinker at the US Open. Like Beatriz Haddad Maia who looked unbeatable on grass winning two consecutive events, only to lose in the first round at Wimbledon. He has a week to rest I think he'll be ready though

You're ignoring the fact that Coric is coming back from shoulder surgery and one year hiatus. He only started to play again 4 months ago and obviously didn't have to continuity and match practice that Alcaraz, Fritz and Carreno Busta had when they won their 1000's. Yeah he played some and won a challenger but we all know how long it takes to actually get back into a groove. That's what makes this run so impressive

Nadal's executioner in three sets.
Afterwards, we will see the tennis documentary that was really missing from Netflix screens.
:D

Absolutely incorrect, sir.
Djokovic will dump him in straight sets (matchup issue) and Nadal will do it in 4 not so close sets.

Yes, sorry. It's a very solid draw in his position.

48 otherwise but 3 guys for sure not there (Gael, Z, Novak) so should still get at least a decent first round. Contrary to the "random" drawing, Top 50 guys as in unseeded 33-50 typically don't get matched with top seeds in opening round.

Team Borna 100%!!!! (: (: (: (I really don't want Stefanos to win - oh well, if he does so be it, of course!)

Coric is riding on a magic carpet. He beat Musetti, FAA, Rafa, RBA, Norrie. That's a ridiculous draw.

Love hold for Stef is a good start. Going to be interesting on return though with how Coric has been serving. Let's see if he can find any early success on return.
