Btw I’ve left the poll with the option to change your vote as Ruud has dropped out of Montreal with illness and Sinner is having hip problems again, so should you vote for a player who in the next few days pulls out of Cincy, you can alter your vote accordingly.

I think Djokovic will win this event, even though he is not playing
He will get more popular by not playing as fans will miss him especially with Sinner having many health issues - no one else to put up a good fight against the young phenom Alcaraz which is what people want to see. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Does something look weird about how the ball is moving/bouncing in this Paul/Cobolli match? It’s almost like watching a tennis video game with weird physics. Might just be the lighting

Tommy out against Coboli, dude's played a lot. Probably knackered, many others too.

Heh,heh, wouldn't put it past him to even make this record.

Montreal felt strange, deflated. Hope it's not the case here in Cincy.

If Alexei doesn't pull out after his most excellent victory he could play Carlitos. I hope we get to see it.

Don't think he's playing Cincy. Said in his acceptance speech he was looking forward to playing the US Open and hoped his girlfriend would accompany him there as well.

Unfortunately that may be the case which often happens in Olympic years when the games are held mid-summer. I always go to Cincy the Sunday before the tournament begins to watch the top pros practice and there just weren't that many big names there this time. Some of that has to do with the fact that there are some new names/faces in the top 40, Canada finished a day later than usual and some players who went deep into the Olympics draw just aren't playing before USO. I expect we may see an upset winner this year at Cincy, kind of like Coric in 2022.

Not so sure I agree with that. 2022 wasn’t an Olympic year when Coric won Cincy. I’m with you in general over the OG having an impact on Canada, where many top players pulled out and those that did following an OG participation were tired, but not convinced the same will apply in Cincinnati necessarily.

They're all there. Except the geriatrics Nadal and Novak.

Question:

Why, if it's played in Mason, do they call it the Cincinnati Masters? After all, according to a quick google, Mason is 22 miles from Cincy!

Nice insight man, good to hear from someone that's been there.
Watching Musetti/Jarry. Contrasting styles, beautiful striking by LM. NJ painting the lines. LM holds to go 5-4 in the 2nd, NJ up a set. Switching to Thompson / Humbert 3rd set tb. Thompson up 4-1. Strange beard.
Edit: Thompson wins. Back to LM/NJ. Hoping LM can break now.

Well done, Musetti. Took out a very strong Jarry in a close match today. Still, I'd like to see him take more initiative and finishing points at the net. His serve is still to weak, and he's lucky Jarry's returns are average at best.
