LOL. No apologies necessary. Any chance we get to bump this classic is a good thing!
Woodrow is just upset that umpires get paid less than $200 a day
Just read all of this thread...
Is there away way to get this thread stickied mods? The new users won't get our real slam jokes otherwise.
We need a sticky thread with some links, including one to this GOAT performance.
Wow. I am a new user, and just came upon this thread. What classic entertainment. This just made me feel it was worth my time to join this site. I hope nobody minds that it was bumped.
Welcome to the forum
yo sureshs wassup dude?
I usually don't like reviving old threads, but this one should be revived until the end of time. It's just pure win.
The epicness of this thread in tennis history is bigger than that Borg McEnroe tiebreak, the Edberg Becker rivalry, Pete's 7 Wimbledons or the Wimbledonfinal of 2008
Will Ralph finally get a chance to complete his real career grand slam this year ? We need to wait until August to find out.
What Career grand slam? He's never even won a Slam?
A career Slam is winning 4 Cincinnati titles.
I think I'm only posting here to make it appear on the lastest threads page of the forum
this is the GOAT thread
First time I get to read this comedy gold thread, now I know at last where the Cincy rave comes from. Thanks for bumping it up!
ahh good ole blast from the past.
This thread is never going to die, is it.
You know, someone just yesterday asked me what my sig quote means,
I have no idea. This trainwreck of English grammar has intrigued (and in consequence, stupefied) many a brave man, only to remain indecipherable.
Alas, we may never know.
It is our duty in life to make the people around the globe aware of this thread. Spread the word.
Nothing much. At lease Cincinnati is not the "Crappy Slam" that IW is turning out to be.
You trying to reverse the jinx to make Rafa win IW?
Come to grace your masterpiece?
My crystal ball tells me Ralph is almost a lock now to win the "Crappy Slam".
Oh boy ! Wish Ralph had picked another slam to win.
Iw sucks big time I agree
IW surface now much faster than the Real Slam...everyone gets the runs! May be fast enough to "eliminate" Ralph's time violations.
Cincy = Happy Slam
IW = Crappy Slam
IW-Miami- the 2 masters events that are the least dependent on tennis skill to win.
Cincy-the master event that requires the most tennis skill to win.
Wow! Are you saying that the two Andys ( Murray and Roddick) have more tennis skills than Novak and Rafa??
Whoa ! Cincy is the Real Slam and nothing can change that.
So what if Nadal can't win the Real Slam ? He is looking good and is currently a lock to win the Crappy Slam.
Haha. IW no competition for the Real Slam!
Will never get old.
Hitters gonna hit
The thread is boring now...stop bumping it.
Agreed, this thread should remain dormant until July/August.
It's already summer time where I live!
It is always summer time where I live
Haha sureshs you have cemented yourself in TT history with this thread. Good times.
early bump came early
Just discovered this thread (thanks to Rippy) and the "Cincy is the Real Slam" story...
By the way, Murray has won a slam.
I got my tickets in mail yesterday. Will be there the whole day on Aug 15th. Maybe will try for one more day as well. Excited again!
Qualies and early rounds
I had a great time in the past watching the qualifiers and early rounds. Seating is outstanding on the field courts during those days. Close enough to study grip/footwork etc.
Have had some great times there.
Yeah Cincy is a cool tournie. Too bad it's in one of the worst cities in the states.
Why is Cincinnati the real slam, Toronto is made from the same surface, and it is in a different country for once.
Canada is slower than Cinci. I don't know if it's the balls or what, but it's well documented. Cinci is currently the fastest masters tournament and doesn't allow one-dimensional pushers to win it (for the record, Murray is a pusher, but he isn't one-dimensional).
Don't question tradition.
Well nadal is not one dimensional or a pusher, but even if he was there is nothing wrong with that, and besides it is still good enough to beat Fed, he will win cinci soon enough
Yeah, just like he'll win WTF
Separate names with a comma.
