My point was his ground game has deteriorated markedly and his serve is what always seems to save him.

It's true that he's making a lot more errors these days, but his groundstrokes are looking pretty solid today. Also it's mostly the consistency of his forehand (or lack thereof) that't a big problem these days.

I think this has been a high quality match. Sure, both players could have made a few less errors but they have both been stepping up and taking the ball on. The previous two matches had too much passive stroke making - which I'm not against as it can often be a good strategy but this is more fun to watch.
