What is your short list of must hit /own classic graphite frames?

My short list?

Wilson PS 85 (ST Vincent)
Dunlop Max 200G
Prince POG mid
Head PT 630
Head PC 600

What's your short list?

Add some more!

Prince Graphite Longbody (cut down to 27.5"). 100% sweet graphite, with control and power. Sad to say, it may stay a discontinued model.....
A friend of mine has demo-ed tons of racquets over the years. The only one he really liked? The Prince EX03 White, all graphite. I know, it's not a classic. Yet.

You've got to add the POG OS. It's the racquet that was used by many Major winners such as Agassi, Chang, Sabatini and others.

Head Composite Pro
Rossignol F200
Puma Vilas or Becker PCS
adidas Lendl GTX

and personally, I prefer the earlier PS85 before it had the head guard...

My List:
  • Head Graphite Edge
  • Dunlop Max 200g
  • Prince Comp Series 110
  • Yamaha Secret 04
  • Rossignol F200 Carbon
  • Snauwaert Golden Mid
  • Fischer Vacuum Pro Classic 90
  • Kneissl White Star Pro Masters
I played many sets with the original Chicago and later St. Vincent versions of the Pro Staff Mid when they were new; tried to like them (Edberg fan), but didn't warm to the variable-density string pattern (couldn't hit consistent flat groundies with them) like I could with the Graphite Edge, Max 200g, Snauwaert, Fischer, or Kneissl (all of which were excellent offensive weapons for all styles of play). The Wilson also couldn't match these frames for feel, IMHO.

The Fischer is another stick on my must own list.....hit one once way back....amazing frame I thought at the time.

Donnay Pro Graphite
Donnay Pro Cynetic
Snauwaert Golden Mid
Snauwaert Hi-Ten 30 and 50
Lacoste Equijet 255

There were so many Silver Ace's around in the early 80's I'd say that one warrants a hit as well.

Yonex R22 should be on the lists.

hmmm so many to choose from...
Prince precision 730 long
Max 200g Pro
Kneissl white star Twin
still play with all three at least a few times a year for kicks

I don't have that much classic experience, but it has to be the Max 200G, the F200 and the Yonex Carbonex 8, the latter of which is my favorite. If you get an eye of one, get it!

Older than most of the ones already mentioned, I'd be tickled to get my hands on an original Aldila Cannon(quite different from the ones currently on 'la bay'). I'd throw in the Trabert C-6, but I never really cared for that one.

1 puma becker super

2 puma vilas pcs/becker winner

3 dunlop muscle weave 200g 95

4 fischer vacuum pro 90

5 head prestige pro 600

6 wilson bumperless ps midsize

Never been able to pick up a Lacoste Equijet, but now that I see it up there, I'd put that on my list too.

Also, somehow I always forget about the Fischer Vacuum Pro 90. Incredible racket. Definitely deserves a hit and a place on the wall...

Head Composite Pro
Rossignol F200
Puma Vilas or Becker PCS
adidas Lendl GTX

What happened to Rossignol racquets.....tennis and skiing always did go together in the old days....

Must tries:

rossi F-series like 250 or 200
dunlop max 200g
puma super or estusa becker
kneissl white star pro or adidas gtx
head prestige classic
wilson ultra I and II and ps60
early donnay graphite like pro one
fischer superform

Love my Yonex r-22

I have 2 of these classics and will still break them out on occasion. Great feel, weight and have a little pop.

I also own a Yamaha Secret 04 that I never truly enjoyed hitting with, felt it was too stiff and not a lot of touch. Cool racquet though.

Head Graphite Edge also had a great solid feel as well.

Great thread. I love the old graphite classics, especially the early ones from the '80s, and I love taking them on the court to try. There are so many great ones, but here are six that I really liked when I hit with them -- they aren't always the ones I've heard other people rhapsodize about, and in fact many of them have more famous brethren. But these are six that I really love.

Pro Kennex Copper Ace, Wilson Sting, Spalding Graphite Legacy.

Donnay Pro 25, Yonex RX-32, Rossignol F-280.

I love hearing other people's favorites, and I agree with many of them. It's hard to beat the Fischer Vacuum Pro, Wilson Pro Staff 6.1 Classic, Yamaha Secret 04, Donnay Pro International, Head Prestige Pro, Dunlop Muscle Weave 200G, all of which I have and love to play with. I might add to those the Dunlop Revelation Tour Pro, which is a match for the Pro Staff 6.1 Classic; and the Volkl Tour 10 V-Engine, just a wonderfully solid racquet.

How about some photos of your favorites, in addition to the lists?

Can't see the photos....try using Picasa web albums? Flickr?
