Hi Drob,

These would not be an exception to the rule. As regards to your second question regarding moderator approval, we do moderate these classified questions as well and your post was waiting for approval. Have a great day!

Sincerely,
Erik, TW Staff

Thanks.

It appears my ad didn't get approved (likely because I forgot to rate it a number in the initial post and put it in the replies instead?)

I haven't received an email and cannot find where to enable email on my profile. Has chat overtaken that option? If not could someone direct me to the proper setting to enable to receive emails?

@chic

If you are talking about the Tecnifibre racquet you posted yesterday, it was approved this morning by our moderators.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

I've bought a few items from here. Is there a way for me to leave good feedback to the seller? I would post on the original ad but not sure I should bump it up.

Hi Talk Tennis Users!

Please use this thread to ask questions regarding the Classifieds section. Before you post, please make sure to read the following two stickies:

Why has my ad not posted?: https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/why-has-my-ad-not-shown-up.499667/

Guidelines/FAQs: https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/updated-guidelines-faq-read-before-posting.217121/

Almost all questions should be answered in there. If you do not see your question/answer, you can post it here. Please note these posts are also moderated and can take up to 24 hours to post on weekdays (weekend posts on Monday).

Thanks,
TW Staff
How do I edit my post? Thx Michael

@Mikel,

If you are trying to edit a Classifieds post, there is currently not an option to edit. You will need to either report the post and let us know what you want changed or add a post in the thread with what you want updated and we will go in and update it for you.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

Thanks

Hi, I made a thread on Friday listing 5 rackets for sale. As I've sold several rackets already through this forum I am pretty sure I followed all the guidelines but I am not seeing my thread anywhere. Can you please advise? Thank you.

FedGR,

Your ad was deleted as it was missing mandatory information for any product that is rated between a 9-9.5 out of ten. You MUST include the following details: 1) specific amount of time used (can be in sets or minutes/hours used) as well as 2) any cosmetic blemishes. Cosmetic blemishes include paint chips, scratches, bumper rash, etc). If there are no blemishes, please state so. Vague descriptions including like new, excellent condition, mint will not be approved.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

@TW Staff I am not seeing my for sale post as I thought everything was included in the posting rules(I coped/pasted the outline form and adjsuted accordingly)

Was it deleted? I looked yesterday and it was still waiting to be approved.

Thanks

In "Updated Guidelines/FAQ................." closed thread, this appeared:

"Contact Information- If you are selling something, please include some contact information. Telling interested buyers to leave their e-mail address is inefficient, and can prolong the sale. Leave an e-mail address if you are comfortable, or enable e-mailing through your profile. This protects your e-mail from spam bots, and allows interested parties to contact you quickly and easily. If you DO enable your profile e-mail, please leave a note in your thread with this information. "

I am not interested in posting my email address in the Classified Forum. Where do I go in my Profile to do what is outlined in red above? What information do I supply? Is this the same as "Conversations" on the forum? Could I simply ask interested parties to use Conversations although it would be limited to those that have signed on to the Forum.

@Chas Tennis,

E-mailing through your profile is the same as a conversation (it is a private message between the two or more parties). It is also sometimes called PM/Private Message or DM/Direct Mesasge on this forum. You can just ask someone to send you private message. Don't confuse with posting on the the profile page which is public.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

I have looked for 15 minutes for something to click on for PM/Private Message or DM/Direct Message. Nothing. I did realize that a member sent me one in 2016. What do I click on and what clear instructions could be placed in a Classified ad to make things easy for a prospective buyer? .

I know you (as an individual) at TW are not making any money from this and you yourself must be doing this as an added role to whatever your main role is, BUT can you please make the "Search" function more useful. Whenever I type something (looking for racquet to buy) in Search, I get all these results in no useful order:

1. PLEASE show results with newest search results first as those are most likely to still be still available
2. You can also allow the original poster to remove the posting when the racquet sells so it does not come up uselessly in the search results

You should (maybe/already) know, EVERYONE IS SICK OF SELLING ON **** and the 15% fee they and paypal take. If this forum was more efficient and useful, it could become the main selling forum for tennis racquets and maybe other sports equipment and TW could take a 3-5% cut without anyone minding.

Thanks

Chas Tennis,

Apologies this question was missed. To start a DM/PM (how some people refer to it on the message board), click on the username of the person you wish to contact and there will be an option to "Start conversation." This will allow you to create a private conversation between you two.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

@One hander,

If you use the advanced search option, click on the "search thread" tab. You will then have the option to pick the forum you would like to search as well as providing keywords and post date. You can also sort by date, most replies and relevance. This should help you show the newest results.

Unfortunately at this time, the program does not allow us to give the option for a user to delete the thread without giving them the option to edit the thread as well. Since each thread and post is individually moderated to make sure it complies with our guidelines, this would not work as users could go in and change their posts after approval.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

Thanks so much for this forum. Super useful with me being both a seller and buyer for many racquets. However, 1 HUGE suggestion:

For the search function, can you please show results with most recent posting first? Whenever I look for a racquet, I get all these listing from several years ago, which are not very helpful. Since the most recent posting s are the most likely to still be available, how about showing those first? Would be such a simple fix

Im trying to post a

Hey guys,

Posted a FS/T, was awaiting moderator approval, now it doesn't say that anymore, but it's not on the thread to my knowledge. Any help?

Hi @TW Staff

If a seller here only wants to sell using Paypal friends and family option to avoid fees (but obviously buyer loses any protection if they just gift the money), that's a red flag for me... Does that warrant a cautionary note in the Reference section abt that seller so others can be aware? PayPal has the fee for a reason and to try to bypass it by asking friends and family option??

Faris

Also as you already know when buyer pays that way he/she loses Paypal protection and if seller decides to not ship and just keep the money etc there is absolutely nothing buyer can do..big red flag IMO

Hi @Faris ,

Each buyer and seller can choose how they want to do the transaction. You are correct, some people choose not to use it to avoid the fees and some people prefer to use it. It is a matter of personal preference. If you aren’t comfortable with using the friends or family option (which is completely understandable), you could look at meeting the seller half way by paying a little more to cover the fee or not go through with the transaction. Nonetheless, preferring to use the friends and family fee does not warrant a note in the reference section in our opinion.

Thanks,
TW Staff

Hey Faris, I have bought over a dozen and sold over a dozen racquets on this forum all with Paypal friends and family payment option and I have really never had a problem. I hate paypal (when you sell as a good on paypal and refund the buyer, paypal still keeps their fees). One day, I might get ripped off here, but it won't kill me. I kind of like to trust people and see them come thru but if it would really upset/kill you, then I recommend you not pay as FF. You can check the previous postings of sellers here. Many have sold a lot of items without complaint. The one thing I myself don't understand is people who buy without seeing pictures. A 1-10 number for condition is so subjective.

Hi Everyone:
I've never purchased a used racquet using the TW Forum. A couple days ago I posted WTB an out-of-date frame that I wanted. I received two very quick responses which was my first inclination that something might be amiss. Both sellers have not posted those frames on here or on any other auction site, which made me nervous. Then, both asked me to send money, in very brief emails to something called cashapp. While the cashapp looked legit, I find I have no protection. I checked to see if they were USTA members in their home State but came up nil.
Can you make a recommendation or two on how to avoid getting scammed? They sent pictures, but both appeared to be stock online photos.
I don't think either reply was legit so I just stopped emailing. Could/Should I ask them to post here or an auction site?

I have bought and sold over 20 racquets on this forum in the classified for sale section, with no problem (knock on wood), but there is no way I would trust the Wanted section.

However, if you pay on paypal as a good, paypal will not release the money to seller until you are happy with the purchase. Do NOT pay as a friend or family in the Wanted section

You might look to see if they have a history on the forum.

For another purpose, new members suddenly appear and endorse the XYZ product in several posts. I started checking out these endorsements and often found that they joined, made several posts always mentioning the same product, and then often disappeared. Look for members that very recently joined and consider that.

Ask for more pics with current date on the pictures - ask the seller to take pictures of the top, sides, throat & handle. If the sellers can’t do that, it’s the best to avoid the transaction. Also, use PayPal.
