Classify the players in Tiers!

Tier 1: Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Zverev

Tier 4: Murray
(Reason why he is a member of Big 4, still far away though)

Tier 8: Wawrinka, Cilic, Del Potro
(Wawrinka has won 3 slams but is too inconsistent)

Rest of the players would be Tier 11 or + in my opinion.

You can even include inactive players.

Tier 1 High: Federer, Nadal, Djokovic
Tier 1 Mid: Murray
Tier 1 Low: Wawrinka
Tier 2 High: Del Potro, Cilic
Tier 2 Mid: Tsonga, Berdych, Ferrer
Tier 2 Low: Nishikori, Raonic, Dimitrov
Tier 3 High: Isner, Monfils, Goffin
Tier 3 Mid: Gasquet, RBA, Querrey
Tier 3 Low: Kohlschreiber, Schwartzman, PCB

Anderson, Thiem and Zverev would be feeling suicidal if they were reading this.

Left out all Next Gen players.
Thiem is tough to rate. His clay results are good, but he lacks outside results.
Hasn't made it past the 4th round off clay.

Anderson only has 4 titles, hasn't even won anything above 250. Hard to really rate him even if he made two Slam finals.
An inflation due to the weaker field? Have to see how he does at latter hardcourt season.

I’m curious about your placement of Connors

In terms of active and retired players (open era only):

Tier 1 - Federer and Nadal (Once in a lifetime players) - Djokovic could join this list if he keeps winning and Laver would be on this list too if it was based on all time/pre open era

Lower Tier 1 - Djokovic, Sampras and Borg (GOAT candidates who are borderline once in a lifetime players)

Tier 2 - Connors, Agassi, Lendl, McEnroe & Laver (Undisputable ATG, but not a GOAT candidate)

Lower Tier 2 - Becker, Edberg, Wilander, Newcombe & Rosewall (Solid ATG's)

Tier 3 - Ashe, Murray, Courier, Nastase & Vilas (Disputable/Borderline ATG's)

Lower Tier 3 - Wawrinka, Kuerten, Kodes, Rafter, Hewitt and Safin (Just shy of ATG status)

In terms of current/active players:

Tier 1 - Federer, Nadal and Djokovic (tennis' current Mount Rushmore)

Between Tier 1 and Tier 2 - Murray (Well behind Mount Rushmore, but solidly ahead of Tier 2)

Tier 2 - Wawrinka, Del Potro and Cilic (Slam Champions and top 4-7 players)

Lower Tier 2 - Zverev, Tsonga, Berdych and Ferrer (Consistent top 10 players)

Tier 3 - Raonic, Nishikori, Dimitrov, Monfils, Goffin and Thiem (Consistent top 7-15 players, but are widely viewed as underachievers)

Lower Tier 3 - Kygrios, Gasquet, Isner, Anderson, Youzhny, Almagro, Simon and Fognini (Consistent top 20 players)

109 career titles, first man to win on all 3 surfaces, 4th all time at #1. Massively underrated player. Always thought of him as one of the best ever.
Jimmy's longevity and consistency was other worldly too, especially for someone during his time/era.

Anyone with less than 4 slams does not belong on Any ATG List, IMHO!

Tier 1: Federer, Nadal, Djokovic (gods)
Tier 2: Murray (enough said)
Tier 3: Wawrinka, Del Potro (hall of fame-worthy, only players the big 4 truly fear)
Tier 4: Ferrer, Cilic, Tsonga, Berdych, Raonic, Nishikori (mainstay top ten players, very impressive careers, consistently fill slam QFs)
Tier 5: Dimitrov, Gasquet, Monfils, Simon, Anderson, Verdasco, Isner, Baghdatis, Goffin, Thiem (flashes of brilliance throughout their career but less consistent than the above)

I made these rankings based on level of achievement but also adjusted for level of competition and other career circumstances. For example, although Cilic has one slam I rank him below Del Potro and Wawrinka because overall his tournament have been much less impressive than those two. I also rank Raonic and Nishikori higher than the likes of Dimitrov because although Dimitrov has more big titles, the former two sustained a high level for much longer, they just had much tougher competition. Also, in typical Murray fashion, he gets his own awkward tier. Nowhere near Fedalokovic level, but definitely much better than the rest. I also left out the next gen since it's hard to know where to place them yet (though Zverev is at least a tier 5 at this point).

No. Anderson uses the TTW opinions to motivate himself, as another since deleted thread said. This is how he made it to the Wimbledon final. This ranking will only ignite the fire more, and he will now probably win USO.

You are just taking Laver and Rosewall's open era careers, right?
