Clay Court Shoes on Hard Court?

Hey, someone just gave me a pair of clay court shoes (basically different tread pattern). Do these work alright on hard courts?

I'm using Adidas Feathers, which are supposed to be for dirt, on cement and have no complaints. I like them, because they're lighter.

I almost broke my ankle using clay court shoes on hard court, so I wouldn't recommend it. but that's just me...

yes, I have played with the Adidas Feather II (clay court shoes) on hard courts. They are rough on the ankles and wear down very quickly, and they slip due to the tread pattern

Of course they will work, you can use snow boots if you like.

Durability is going to be an issue, but you should be alright.

Best of luck to you =]

Yea, they just wear out faster. I wear BFIIs on hard, and Animos on dirt. My Hard court shoes last 5 weeks, my clay shoes last a year.

it depends on how you move...if not abusive, clay court shoes are fine on hard courts if you dont need all kinds of lateral support, but the sole material is usually softer and wears out quicker..i wouldnt wish to wear clay court shoes full time on hard, but i wear feather II's on the hard courts occassionaly with no problemo, and they sure are light

I use Feather II's for both clay and hardcourt and have had no complaints at all either way. They do seem to wear a little quicker but nothing that I'm finding too bothersome (that's why I bought 3 pair, lol). I haven't had any problems with slipping or any other issues.
