Cleaned up my forehand this winter

I've always struggled more with my forehand technique than my backhand. This winter I worked on hitting my forehand a bit further from my body. I'm getting a little bit more pop and it overall just looks a lot cleaner than it did. I also continued to work to improve my serve. (Not pictured here). Any comments or advice more than welcome!

Seems like you’re trying to do the Nadal high finish above the head all the time. Are you getting enough depth with that?

The forehand doesn’t look really broke (theres obviously always things to improve). My worry is whether or not you can drive the ball flat when you need to

You are too often too late and too close. It looks more like Murray’s in match FH

Been telling him this, I think the racquet might be too heavy. But, I don't push these tips too hard because I have to play him sometimes and don't want to make my life any more difficult than it needs to be

How much do you BENCH bro? (;

Hah, if you think this is too close then you should’ve seen it before!
Extend your off hand parallel to the BL for spacing and the ball has to be outside of it.
Also, yes, you are late in your prep and it's not b/c the racquet is heavy, but b/c you don't start taking it back early.

I wasn't doing that on purpose, just happened to a few times in a row there. Here are some more standard ones.

I could definitely prep earlier. I know the video quality is a bit bad but I think I am extending my off-hand parallel to the baseline?

You should have your image much bigger, your height occupies less than 10% of the frame height. A camera shot from the side seeing the tilt on the racket face at impact is very good. Motion blur might be a problem. To minimize motion blur with automatic exposure control, video in bright, direct sunlight, the kind that shows sharp dark shadows, not with cloudy skies.

Take care not hit your camera or tripod with a tennis ball. A telephoto lens is useful.

Forehand compilation of ATP players.
post your new Youtube here and we can compare it in your post.

When you get a similar camera view video of your forehand, post it directly under this video and you can do direct comparisons single frame of the two Youtubes on this forum. I'll search the instructions for comparing which I have posted many times.

Similar analyses of mine results in discussions on forehand separation angle of the line between the 2 shoulders and a line between the 2 hips. This involves the twisting and untwisting of the trunk resulting the turning of the uppermost body.

If interested, attempt to analyze your forehand VS a forehand on the compilation, ask questions and list differences that you saw, especially the differences between your forehand and the ATP forehand.

If any one posts advice on your tiny & blurry micro video - the OP video - ask them what frames they were viewing and what in those frames supports their advice. Strokes can be identified by giving the time of the video, 'the impact at about 11 seconds.

Your unit rotation is off. Your left hand is leaving you too early and you’re opening your chest too quickly. Additionally you’re not rotating through your hips enough.

Learn to anchor a bit more off your back foot, and getting your hips to load and unload more. Just make sure your hands prep stays intact and not over pulling behind you when you rotate.

i remember your old fh and think this is an improvement: theres much less going on, in a good way.
what you do well in your backhand is you strike through the ball and hit a flatter more penetrative shot.

without adding any more power, i'd like to see something similar on your forehand. right now it looks too spinny, like your opponent would always have time to get to it. Do you have a flatter forehand you can hit? i'd experiment with trying to make your rally ball forehand like 20-40% flatter.
