Clear Cap Grommet Problems on Head YT IG Prestige Pro

I was playing with my Head YT IG Prestige Pro the other day and I miss-hit (the tennis ball hit the cap grommet near 9 o'clock). This broke the grommet at that position. Basically, there's a 2 inch fragment of the grommet just dangling off. The strings are still fine and in place. I check my rackets pretty often while on the court, so I'm pretty sure there wasn't a crack before this fragment broke off.

This makes me question the quality/durability of these new clear cap grommets as I never had a problem with the old black ones on the YT non-IG Prestige Pro.

Can I just tape this fragment back? What kind of tape should I use?

Should I replace the cap grommet? Will the old black cap grommets on the non-IG fit the IG rackets (they seem more durable)?

The black grommets should fit just fine.

I think I would go ahead and replace the set just to be on the safe side. A grommet set and re-string is fairly cheap.

There have been other posts here about the clear cap grommets breaking. The ones I remember were during cold weather.
