Closest to a poly? but not poly?

hey guys i was wondering if there are any multis out there that has many characteristics as poly( obviously not as good as lux, rpm, pht) but have better tension maintenance?

i know this may sound unreasonable for many. sounds like the perfect string, but just wondering.

i heard biphase is good rip control anything else?

This has got to be the most asked question on this forum. The answer is Recoil.

Biphase and Rip Control have no poly characteristics whatsoever.

I prefer Silverstring 1.20 over X-one for these two reasons which are very important to me:
Better tension maintenance & easier on my arm
Good luck finding the one that works better for you

Why not a poly that has the characteristics of a multi? Great tension maintenance and arm friendly..... Sigmun Pro Poly Plasma.

I had SPPP strung at a very low tension and it still caused me major elbow pain. I wouldn't categorically say it's arm friendly for everyone.

i just strung a full bed of gosen polylon comfort 17 and love it. my first poly. it's one of the softest polys. feels soft as my previous multis that didn't last very long. hopefully this will last much longer. going sp 17 next.

Depends on which characteristics of poly you are looking to find elsewhere:

Spin: some 18g multis, or if you don't have arm issues: kevlar hybrids like Gamma TNT2 Fusion Plus 19g

Control: Rip Control (low powered and good directional control, but otherwise is not good for spin or durability, so many call it opposite of poly... however, it does not "trampoline" so in that sense can be considered "poly-like")

Durability: kevlar as well. the 18g multis I recommend are also the least durable strings possible.

Is the Prince Recoil string being recommended the Recoil 16 or the Recoil Hybrid ?

I only have experience with Recoil 16.

Recoil Hybrid is Recoil 16 and a poly. I've never used it, but it doesn't sound like a good combo to me. If you used the poly in the cross, you'd quickly notch through the teflon layer on the recoil. If you used the poly in the mains, you'd be missing out on the relative softness of the recoil (vs a poly).

The recommended string is Recoil 16, not the hybrid. The hybrid doesn't make any sense because the poly will drop tension very fast, so you lose all the advantages of using Recoil. Recoil keeps tension and playability far longer than any poly.
