All ages..
Hard to find available courts nowadays..
Luckily I belong to a club that has 8 courts.

I asked this in the tennis forum and didn't get an answer. Pickleball was invented in 1965, why is it that in just the last few years it has seen such a surge in popularity? Why was it not cool in 1965 and only became cool in 2019?

Social media exposure. Plus, like tennytive said, probably baby boomers getting older and not able to move as much. If it gets them to exercise I am all for it. Just I HATE the noise playing pickleball makes.
I see that some pickleball paddle manufacturers ( mostly tennis racquet manufacturers making pickleball paddles) are charging $100+ for pickleball paddles. So they are REALLY interested in pushing that sport along.
I am not sure what the + would be in buying a $200 pickleball paddle. To each their own. Have fun!!!

Name recognition, Wilson, Head, Babolat! Plus, you usually go with the brand your tennis racquet is too! High up in price, the better color graphics and at the $180+, you get solid black! Ohhhhhhhh!
