Co poly's comfort

I use primarily SPPP, Cyberflash and WeissCannon's Match Power (full jobs). In terms of comfort, they feel about the same to me. And I'm OK with using them, they seem comfortable enough for me. I hear these newer co-poly's are more comfortable compare to the older type poly's.

But I have no idea how they compare to other non poly strings like multi or nylon in terms of comfort, not counting natural gut or synthetic gut. Anyone who has experiences between these they want to share?

I'm strictly talking about comfort only here, not spin or durability or tension stability or any of the other stuff.

For the longest time i would always use a good multi, usually NRG2 or X-1... then tried Pro Supex Big Ace... i wanted a string to be a little crisper, longer lasting, playable and comfortable... Since going from these softer multis to a co-poly you would think i had some difficulty...no way! Big Ace is a comfortable string (i have also played SPPP, in fact i still string with it)... i use Big Ace as a full job. I have experienced no arm problems or TE... i can't say enough about this string, i just bought more of it minutes ago...

interms of how it compares in comfort to a syn or a multi... well, let's just say the multis i used were "pillow top" matresses and Big Ace is a "memory foam" matress... both comfortable for what it is, but in a different way.

Try Big Ace...

i just strung with SPPP (Pure), haven't played it yet... will let you know. :)

For me, the biggest difference is when I mis-hit, especially near the top of the stringbed. A poly is much harsher than a solid core or multifilament synthetic gut. Otherwise, if you are after a certain type of response and string the non-poly up tighter to get that predictability, the difference in hitting the sweetspot is noticeable but not that different in terms of comfort.

Multi and synthetic gut are still more comfortable. The durability though is not as good.
